“Some people have difficulty directing their mind and using affirmations. There is nothing wrong with the person or with affirmations. Mostly, it is because they misunderstand the process. Often affirmations are presented incorrectly.
People are simply misinformed about them. This is a reason I wrote the article ‘Why Affirmations Don’t Work’ to address this issue. I’ve spent forty years teaching people how to effectively reprogram their brains. Directing one’s brain is simple when you know how.
People think affirmations are statements your repeat by rote. You must understand that the unemotional, non-passionate recital of words has little effect. It may have some effect, for some people, but typically, it just doesn’t work. You do want it to be effective, right?
You Go Where Your Thoughts Take You
For affirmations to BE effective they must be powered by emotion. You must exclaim them with passion and certainty. Sometimes, people doubt what they are saying. This can render them ineffective. You must believe what you are affirming. There are ways to do this.
If you don’t believe what you are affirming you find ways to work up to it. I have discussed this in many other blog posts on this site. Learning how to baby step your way up to powerful affirmations you passionately believe is most important. Learn to do it right.
Powerful feelings and emotions are what makes affirmations work. This is precisely why people get crap in their lives. They’re good at negative affirmations. Things go wrong and in their frustration, anger or despair exclaim, ‘I suck,’ or they ask, ‘why am I so stupid?’
Energy Flows Where Your Attention Goes
They assert, ‘I knew this wouldn’t work!’ They aren’t surprised when it doesn’t. They DID know it. They did assert it. I have done this. Haven’t you? Most probably you have. This is what most of us do. We emotionally affirm the wrong things we don’t want in our life.
Affirmations work. People just don’t know how to utilize them correctly to target what they do want. People negatively affirm. They make negative statements about themselves and the world. while feeling strong negative emotions. They reinforce feeling bad.
Things don’t work out. They feel bad. Most important for us to understand is MOST often they feel bad FIRST. Then, as a result things don’t work out. Why? Because you get what you focus on! You become what you think about. What you put out comes back. Get it?
You Get What You Focus On – What You Focus On Expands
You can’t vibe low and expect good things to happen. They might haphazardly, but if you vibe low, you get low vibe. If you doubt, you aren’t likely to get it. If you hate, you’re more likely to be hated. If you’re angry, you are more likely to attract angry people to you.
See? To live a positive life you must learn to vibe high. You must affirm the good and the positive. You must focus on the things you want to include positively, not the negative things you want to avoid or exclude. You want to attract abundance, peace, love, etc., right?
Your mindset is crucial! We will discuss this further in the next blog. Meanwhile, learn to focus on the good things in life. Look around at what you have and enjoy. Become grateful. Express your gratitude for these, not your frustrations for what you don’t have yet. Learn to focus your mind positively and you will find more positive things to be grateful for.
