“Some people ‘don’t know’ what they want. If you don’t you can get better clarity by first determining what you don’t want. If you know what you absolutely don’t want, or want to eliminate, and/or will not tolerate, that can help you clarify what you do want in your life.

To assist yourself make a list of what you do not want. Write it down. Then write the opposite. For example, I don’t want to be fat. I want to weight X and be more muscular. OR I want more energy. OR I want to fit into my college clothes. OR I want to feel wonderful.

Or I accept myself no matter what I weigh. OR I want to get in better shape, walk an hour a day and stick to eating well. Get it? List what  you do want and can do. By listing what you don’t want you can discover what you do want instead. It gives you needed contrast.

You Are Today Where Your Thoughts Have Brought You

Then list what you do want, want to include or enjoy more of. This process will help you clarify. You might eventually ask which is the most important to be, do, or have? Or what area of change you will work on first? Prioritize so you can work on them in order.

You can number them or list them in most important order. Take your time. There is no rush to complete it. Think about it. Be honest with yourself. Taking action this way to clarify your dreams and goals can help you move toward them step by step. Helps you get results.

Knowing what you want is important. If you don’t know what your destination is, what city you want to end up in, how would you ever get there? Creating clarity for yourself greases the wheel and makes it easier. You know what to leave behind and what to move toward.

You Will Be Tomorrow Where Your Thoughts Take You

Of course, you could ask ‘how delighted might I feel by discovering those areas in my life that are truly important for me to work on and how thrilled will I be to find myself having more and more clarity with each passing day? Or something to that effect. You can ask morning night and whenever you think to. Meanwhile, take some time to specify what you desire most, be grateful and celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes
