The-Moment-You-Take-Responsibility-350x206

“New Year always gets people motivated for awhile. Are you one of those who makes all sorts of vows only to find yourself keeping a few? Maybe none? Somewhere along the way you run out of steam or forget and give up. If that is what you have done in the past, so be it.

Accept it, and move on. Your past has nothing to do with your future. It really has nothing to do with your present. That was then and this is now. Decide it will be different and then learn easy ways of making that so.

One way to insure that you keep motivated and inspired in keeping your resolutions is to not bite off more than you can chew. Take it easy on yourself and do a little bit by bit. The way you eat an elephant is bite by bite. Many people just try to do too much too soon and they can’t accommodate it in their schedule. Remember, for your life to change you have to change some things in your life.

the choice to have a great attitude

A great definition of success is the steady progression toward accomplishing your goal. That means as long as you keep moving forward towards achieving what you want you are succeeding.!

Obviously, if you quit it ends there. So keep doing a little bit each day, each week and each month and you will be succeeding all along the way.  We succeed faster by doing a little bit consistently than to give a great burst and not do anything again for some time.

New Years sees lots of people hit the gyms. I am convinced that many people drop out for this reason alone. I know I used to do this. While there may be other reasons this one seems to be one that many do. They jump in and they hit the weights. They lift and lift. They add the weight. First day out. The second and third day their muscles burn from their first work out and they decide they need to lay off. Already they have interrupted the flow of their workout promise.

winners never quit

They do so because they try or they do too much too fast. Better to ease into it. Walk for a week or two. Try to do at least an hour of walking. Get your muscles used to moving. Maybe do a month.

Better to walk for an hour a day for a month than to work out a couple times and give up. Ease into it! Do less which in the long run can be a whole lot more. Maybe you can only do 20 minutes. Okay do 20 minutes that is better than nothing at all.

The same thing with loosing weight. People stop eating or overhaul their entire diet. Then they abandon it because it is too overwhelming. It is too difficult to keep up with it. Plus, they haven’t made any new habits that keep them going.

its a slow process but quitting wont speed it up

Better to eliminate one or two foods and add in one or two at a time. The idea is to build habits that support what you do. Habits take some time to develop. We build positive habits by routinely engaging in the correct behavior repeated over days, and weeks and months. As we do this we wire in the new behaviors. They become part of us.

If you focus on health and well being instead of loosing weight it is easier too. Then you can think and do those things bit by bit that are healthy to do. Overall you are improving, slowly but steadily. Remember in order to win the race you first have to run the race AND you have to finish the race. You can not quit anywhere along the way and expect to win.

YOU can win! You can succeed in making changes and doing anything new that you want to!  You will develop a positive habit as long as you make a steady progression toward achieving your goal. Stick with it and it is yours.

act as if you already have it

Mind set is 99% of your success. Your positive thoughts make a big difference. What you expect makes an incredible difference! If you expect to succeed you are on your way. Sadly, many people don’t expect good things.

They think something may come along and mess things up. Then when it does they exclaim, ‘I knew it!’ as if it is more important to be right about failing than to do what it takes to succeed. This is just plain silly. Take responsibility and accept no excuses.

Okay, if you are one of those then build a contingency plan into what you want to accomplish. An if/then flow chart. If this happens then this is how you will overcome it. Then stick with it. IF this other thing occurs then THIS  is how you will keep on course. Plan for success. Rehearse your success. This is an important piece to put into play.

success is the sum of small efforts repeated day in and day out

Think positive!  Use the inner movie theater of your mind to see yourself as having already accomplished what you want to accomplish. See it as if it is already done. Notice the great feelings and thoughts you have as you live your dream. The best way to insure success is to rehearse it again and agin in your mind.

Live it. FEEL IT! See yourself as the change you want to become! When you do this you are pointing yourself in the direction you want to go in. You have set your destination and your unconscious servo-mechanism will help you in getting there. Feelings are the key to unlock the doorway  to your success. Feel great and life becomes great! Feel successful and you will be successful.

Remember, less is more! Better to take smalls steps toward what you want to do than to do a lot and quit before achieving it. It is better to take more time getting there than to not get there at all. Each step you take is a success you can claim because you are then actively in the process of making your dreams come true.

happiness depends on quality of your thoughts

When you feel yourself succeeding you will be successful! When you take the steps and feel positive and successful all along the way you are building a powerful, positive way to live.  Focus on what you want, positively handle any challenges along the way, and keep on keeping on!  Apply these principles in any area of you life. Anything you want to do in your playtime, your hobbies, sports, school, your career, your job, with your family, wealth creation, health, in your life you can make happen. You CAN do it. You WILL do it! Claim your own success. Make it happen!” Rex Sikes
