“A liberation can be a prison and a prison can be a liberation. Who is wrong much of the time? Experts. Good experts recognize when wrong and seek to correct. The not-so-good experts maintain their incorrect position against all opposing thought. They dig in deeper. Entrenchment or standing your ground can be a horrible choice or it can be a commitment to some greater good.

Simplification is useful and necessary when it’s accurate. When it is not it is dangerous. Battle cries are simple. Memes are simple. Memorable and can be useful or dangerous. People can remember the wrong things because they heard them repeatedly and they are familiar or memorable. Seek accuracy over anything else when it comes to explanations.

Thoughts can expand or constrict us. They can be a blessing or curse. A prison can be a blessing even while it is a cure. Victor Frankl experienced new thought and being as a result of being horrifically challenged in a concentration camp. Hardship can enlighten. It may not but it can. Comfort can be wonderful or another trap. One man’s meat is another’s poison.

Don’t follow the herd just because it makes you feel good. Choose the herd to be a part of because it is the wisest, smartest, best for you and all others choice. Remember, there is more than just you.

Don’t be very smart but wrong at the same time. Be willing to be wrong and able to correct it. Be wiling to be flexible. Be open-minded. Be adaptable. Be skeptical but open. Don’t be closed and cynical. Be a lover, not a hater. Seek to include more people not exclude more. Seek to love and embrace and uplift and edify not to harm. Seek to add life not take life. Be a light. There’s enough darkness but light by its very nature illuminates and darkness flees. One candle can light the world when enough others light from it. Be that candle.
