“I want to emphasize elements from my last blog. Let’s continue to dive in and turn negativity into a tool for powerful transformation! Remember, declare what you want with passion and conviction. AND turn negativity into feedback you can use to transform. Think of negative feelings as signals your GPS gives you to alert you when you’re off-course. Negative emotions are your mind’s way of nudging you back on track. Get this!
Instead of dwelling on them, ask, ‘is this thought helping or hindering me?’ Use this feedback to pivot back toward a productive mindset. Remember, thoughts that don’t serve you are merely temporary detours, not dead ends! So, if you find yourself dwelling on a setback, ask, ‘What lesson can I learn here? What is this frustration trying to tell me about my direction?’ It’s a sign to adjust your strategy or your focus.
Thank goodness your GPS alerts you when you’re headed in the wrong direction. It keeps sounding the alarm as you continue to travel that way. It’s a blessing and it’s attempting to get you to turn around and go in a different direction. Success in this process comes from consistency. Set aside time each day, even just a few minutes, to check in with your thoughts. Journaling can be incredibly helpful for this. You’ll be surprised.
DEVELOP THE POSITIVE ATTITUDE, MINDSET AND BELIEFS TO TRANSFORM YOURSELF
Write down your main thoughts or emotions and look for patterns. Are you focusing on the negative? Make a conscious effort to redirect your thoughts toward what you want instead. Over time, this check-in practice will become automatic, and you’ll naturally shift your mindset toward the positive. Every evening, jot down a quick note about your day and how you felt. Were there negative thoughts? How did you respond to them?
As this habit grows, you’ll start seeing a shift in your automatic reactions to challenges. A few years ago our friend Les Brown came out with his book, “You’ve Got to Be Hungry” which I’m sure moved some people up a notch on the motivation scale. I, however, told myself, “No, it’s more like “You’ve Got To Get Angry” because a huge portion of the population wouldn’t say “Shit!” if they had a mouthful, thereby failing to honor their real core values, needs, and rights to live a full and prosperous life. So I’m glad to see you’ve addressed this issue as you have, Rex. Not enough is said about the courage to be uniquely ourselves, to let our highest self emerge when listening to our inner voice and say “This is crap! I don’t like this!” For failing to do this puts the locus of control out side where it compromises our unique self. We need obstacles when life doesn’t work to keep growing and unleashing our potentials and the ability to exploit anger as the identification of what we need to change to eventually overcome self doubt and develop high self-esteem. Anger is the door to loving ourselves more.
