“I started teaching this in workshops beginning in the ’70s. Match, mirror, and pace a child, a toddler, a baby. Go to the beach or a playground, and from a good distance*, do everything child or baby does. If they roll over you roll over. If they beat the earth you do too.
It takes some guts because you have to not care what others think of your antics. There is no explanation for what you’re doing because no one else can tell you are modeling a child many yards from you. You just do everything the child does. It takes a lot of energy.
What do you discover? There are so many things. A child learns through play. A child expresses itself through play. A child has infinite energy and is totally absorbed in what s/he is doing. They aren’t worried what people think. It’s an amazing thing.
Children Are Boundless Energy And Joy – You Could Be Too
My daughter came into class an early toddler. I had students model everything she did while she was there. She was about 2. Students got a first hand, personal, demonstration of behavioral flexibility and play. How willing are you to dive into it completely? Do you live fully?
They got an energy workout. Some discovered and got to look at how often they judged or criticized themselves and their actions. They got a potent lesson in how often they let thinking interfere with what they do. Did the thinking support them or not?
They learned much more, too. You may want to do this. Be smart, wise and safe about it. You don’t make contact with the child. You could do it with your own child. Try it for 30 minutes. Try 60. See what you can do. Go longer. If you do this exercise, feel free to share your insights in the comments. Do it many times and learn a lot about yourself and how to live. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes
*It is best to do this exercise in a group. One person does it while others witness the person doing the modeling while keeping an eye on the child at a distance. Switch roles. It is important the child is safe and not involved, and you want to be safe and not appear to behave inappropriately around kids. A few positive people with you provides a healthy way to do this exercise without drawing undue attention to anything. Your antics have a context in a group. Be wise.

“Mind Design is a game changer! It is the missing link between LOA, NLP, Hypnosis, Meditation, EFT & DHE. The support and feedback in the training is like nothing I’ve ever experienced before in 14 years of formal practice and 26 years of personal practice. You owe it to yourself and those you care about to look into this training!!” Tim Shay, Musician, Philadelphia, PA
“My life changed the day I first met you which is quite funny as I was in the middle of Tony Robbins year-long Mastery University but nothing I found there ever compared to what I discovered with you, and now, all these years later, Mind Design! You truly are the gift that goes on giving, our Rex xx” Kathy Strong, NLP Trainer and Coach, Bleadon, England
