“What happens when you pursue your dreams and goals? You believe you have done everything ‘right’ but you see no evidence of change. Circumstances  remain the same or even get worse. You think, ‘what on earth is going on?  It is worse than before!’

Economist Dr. Rudi Dornbusch  said,  ‘Things takes a much longer time coming than you think, and then it happens much faster than you would have thought.” Napoleon Hill shared a very similar concept. The time it takes is the time it takes. You can’t force it.

Essentially, Hill said, when people pursue money, it takes as long as it takes, but when it comes it does so fast it is scary.  Hang in there. A seed planted takes time to bear fruit. Be patient. It is darkest before the dawn. Sometimes, it is very dark and turbulent prior.

Difficult Roads Often Lead To Beautiful Destinations

Hill said of the 520 richest people on earth that he studied and modeled, all of them had disappointment after disappointment, even catastrophe before breaking through. Similar to a roller coaster ride there were numerous uphill climbs and down times. It was tough.

This tends to happen almost without exception. When you decide to go after things you shake things up and make changes in the atmosphere. You pursue and you struggle. The journey may be difficult and long. You can’t see when it will come. You must trust.

How you wait is then secret ingredient. It is not THAT you wait but HOW you wait.  Trust the universe’s timing. It is out of your hands. You can’t know everything. I saw an info graphic today.  It read, ‘A Rolls Royce takes six months to make, a Toyota takes thirteen hours’.

Until You Are Broken You Don’t Know What You Are Made Of

Learn to have faith. This means letting go of how it shows up AND when it shows up. Trust, means knowing it will show up at the right moment. Hill stated, you must remain passionate and certain you will make it happen. Expect it, even though you don’t know when.

Certainty in the face of opposition IS how we grow. If it were easy we wouldn’t evolve much. Having to believe and keep the faith in spite of obstacles, and in spite of no evidence anything will happen for us, is how we develop this certainty. How else would we?

We grow by opposition, just as muscles grow by resistance. Consider the time between the moment you decide to make it happen and the moment it does happen, as your time to learn and evolve into the kind of wonderful person you can be. It is you very special time.

The Caterpillar Doesn’t Know It Is Going To Become A Butterfly

You will encounter doubts, opposition, worry, fear and down times. Feel blessed. Whenever these occur it is an opportunity to make changes. If you think, ‘it will never happen. I can’t do it.’ This is a belief you have held. Now, that it is up and in the open, change it.

It reared its head for you. You are facing it. It isn’t in the dark. It is out in the open. NOW, is when you can do something about it. Now, is when you can shift to the belief you would prefer to have. Now, you can take charge and learn to manage your thoughts and feelings.

Making the decision to go after your dream, pursuing it and waiting expectantly while you pursue it, is all part of making it happen. The seed grows under the cover of the earth and you can’t see exactly when it will break through. It will. Have faith. Be grateful for the journey. Gratitude will make the journey much more delightful and easier. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes
