“At one time it was assumed people responded to information that came to us from outside ourselves. The conclusion then was we react to what happens and that ‘happening’ influenced our thoughts, feelings and actions. It was accepted or believed that movement from the external to the internal was the ‘way things are’. We came to think ‘seeing Is believing’. Well, yes… but…

At one time, we believed the world was flat and the center of the universe. Scientists learned otherwise. Scientists have learned the opposite is true regarding the flow of information. It’s from internal to external. From within us we determine what we get in the outer world. Our thinking and feeling precedes our actions and results. From within to without! We change the world.

Researchers now understand how much our expectations shape our experience of circumstances.  We act from what we expect to happen next. Said differently, what we believe will happen is what will happen. Our expectations are powerful. We come to see what we already believe. Therefore, you should expect to create a marvelous future! The reality is there is give and take. Two sides.

We expect things to happen, and they can. AND things happen and we react from habit or conditioning. OR we respond. We choose how we will react to the circumstances. That choice and that ability to choose makes us able to be creative and resilient. It means we can change what goes on to a great extent. We may not be able to stop the volcano, but we have choices.

We can choose whether to fear or flee. We can adapt. We can ignore. The example is somewhat silly but consider the platitude, when life gives you lemons make lemonade. We can choose how we think and feel about things and that determines the outcome or how we go through things. If we believe or accept something is bad, that tends to be the case. We influence the outcome.

It may not be written in stone that THAT outcome will be bad but it’s more likely that is what we discover and feel. Our part in our life should be to expect and believe the very best about ourselves, others and our circumstances. Having an optimistic, positive, ‘can do’ mindset makes all the difference in the world. Consider this. Our beliefs are those thoughts we repeatedly think.

We adopted these beliefs from others without realizing it or we accepted these based on experiences we have had. Researchers now know we respond to what the brain expects to happen based on what we’ve come to believe. In other words, scientists now conclude that believing Is seeing! You can’t see behind your back, right? If you don’t know, you don’t know.

If you are unaware of something, for all intents and purposes, it doesn’t exist. Although it does, you can’t see it or use it. It’s like having 100 dollars in some pocket in your coat in the closet. If you don’t know it’s there, you can’t spend it. It doesn’t exist for you although the bill exists in the coat pocket. You miss the opportunity. Now on the other hand you can imagine.

You may have imagined there were monsters under your bed as a child. Even though you were told they weren’t there you believed they were. For you they were real. They showed you under the bed that there were no monsters, but when they left and turned out the lights the monsters were there. We often fear what doesn’t exist. BUT for us it does. We think it is real and react.

The mind is incredible! It’s powerful and consistent. If believing is seeing it means we can begin to see opportunities, we might otherwise miss. We can use this ability to our advantage. We can pretty much make happen anything we want OR don’t want by what we focus on and think about the most. We have a powerful tool, the brain, and we ought to use it wisely and the best we can.

Some people get results they don’t want because they think about those problems predominantly. Instead of concentrating on what they DO want, they worry and fear and concentrate on what they don’t want. The brain will deliver to you anything you think about most intensely. Money or monsters. The choice is yours. Happiness or sadness. It’s up to you. Health or illness. You choose.

To get what you want you must believe what you want is possible to be, do or have. You must believe you can create, make happen and have anything you truly, intensely desire! If you don’t believe THAT it is possible for you and that you can and will have it, you’re not going to make it happen! You must expect to bring it about TO bring it about! You must believe it will be and IS.

Realize if it is going to happen it is up to you. You must claim 100% responsibility to make your life what you want it to be. Most people never do. They continue to believe that life happens to them and you’re either lucky or you’re not. God is good or god isn’t. Again, your choice. People live their lives never knowing the power within them. Most never claim what is theirs.

Why? Because the world doesn’t share with you that news. Most of society’s messages are toe the line. Don’t make waves. Work hard, retire and die. Society wants you to fit in and not create trouble. The occasional maverick is good but gosh, society doesn’t want it filled with mavericks. The top dogs can’t control masses of mavericks because it’s hard enough controlling morons.

It’s stacked against awakening to your potential. However, you must realize that whatever results you presently have or don’t have are your responsibility. It’s 100% your responsibility. YOU are responsible for your life. Whether you are ignorant of the 100 dollars or think monsters exist, that is on you. You are responsible. If you change everything changes.

You may not like that thought but when you take 100% responsibility for everything, good and bad, you put yourself in the place of power to make the changes you need to get the results you desire. So, take the responsibility! Make a difference for yourself and your future! Decide to believe that YOU and you alone create all of your experiences, and you will begin moving forward.

If you drive a car and can decide where to go, then consider driving your life the same way. Exercise your power to choose where to go and then go. Choose to believe that whatever you experience, success or failure, pleasure or pain, is due to your expectations, your beliefs and attitudes. Once you do believe this deeply you free yourself from being a victim of other people, events and situations. Wake up to you! It is worth it to be free! Smell the coffee. Enjoy your life.
