“People read a book, hear a speaker or attend a ‘pump ’em up adrenaline-filled event’ and get motivated for a while. They get excited. Then shortly thereafter the adrenaline high wears off or they just lose interest and return to their old ways. Are you one of those who makes vows only to find yourself keeping a few? Maybe none? You run out of steam, forget or just give up. Why?
Adrenaline pumped-up events lead to disappointment because adrenaline is not a chemical that leads to lasting change. It leads to fight or flight. It leads to escape. It is required for fast action but once the ‘thing,’ the event or the threat is over it dissipates. That is what it is supposed to do. People think however that all the fun and excitement and pumped up means lasting change.
It doesn’t. Neither does massive action. Massive action is okay to take on the rare occasion you need it. You have to pull your car out of the mud or snow may require massive action but once free it is no longer necessary. What is needed is less energy and more momentum. Less energy but consistent, persistent energy keeps things moving. The brain and universe works by law.
Freedom can be yours BUT if you do nothing, nothing changes!
People get excited by reading or listening to a speaker or audio. They get ramped similarly to listening to rousing music. They feel motivated but know this. Motivation comes from within and from acting. You get motivated from doing not from waiting and hoping to be motivated. If you’ve done any of these in the past, so be it. It’s what you have done in the past. Today, can be different.
Accept it. Move on. Your past has nothing to do with your future. It has nothing to do with your present. That was then. This is now. Decide it will be different and then learn easy ways of making that so. One way to ensure that you stay motivated and inspired or dedicated to the changes you want to make is to not bite off more than you can chew. Take it easy on yourself and do a little bit.
Bit by bit. The way you eat an elephant is bite by bite. Many people just try to do too much too soon and they can’t accommodate it in their schedule. Remember, for your life to change you have to change some things in your life. A great definition of success is the steady progression toward accomplishing a worthwhile goal. As long as you’re moving forward towards it you’re succeeding.
Freedom can be yours BUT if you do nothing, nothing changes!
If you quit it ends there. Keep doing a little bit each day, each week and each month and you will be succeeding all along the way. You’ll succeed faster by doing a little bit consistently than to give a great burst and not do anything again for some time. Think about how people don’t keep New Year’s resolutions. The first of the year sees lots of people hit the gyms. They are eager and committed.
They jump in and hit the weights. They lift and lift. They add weight. First day out. The second and third day their muscles burn from their first work out and they decide they need to lay off. Already, they have interrupted the flow of their workout promise. Winners are not people who never fail but are the people who never quit. They quit because they try to do too much too fast.
It is better (and far healthier) to ease into it. Walk for a week or two. Try to do at least an hour of walking. Get your muscles used to moving. Maybe do it for a month. Get used to walking and enjoy it. Develop the habit of spending time doing this exercise. Condition yourself for success while you condition your body. If you enjoy it, do it consistently, see results and it’s easy enough you’ll do it.
Freedom can be yours BUT if you do nothing, nothing changes!
It’s better to walk for an hour a day for a month than to work out a couple times and give up. Ease into it! Do less. In the long run it can be a whole lot more. Maybe you can only do 20 minutes. Okay do 20 minutes that’s better than nothing at all. The same thing with losing weight. People stop eating or they overhaul their entire diet. Then they abandon it because it is too overwhelming.
It’s too difficult to keep up with it. Plus, they haven’t made any new habits that keep them going. Creating positive habits IS the best way to proceed. It is a slow process making changes to your habits but quitting won’t speed the process up. It’s better to eliminate one or two foods and add in one or two at a time. The idea is to build habits that support what you do.
Habits take some time to develop. We build positive habits by routinely engaging in the correct behavior repeated over the days, and weeks and months. As we do this correctly, consistently and for long enough we wire in the new behaviors. The new behaviors become part of us. If you focus on health and well-being instead of losing weight it is easier too. Mindset matters. It’s important.
Freedom can be yours BUT if you do nothing, nothing changes!
We tend not to like losing things. Get it? If you are trying to stop something that seems harder than beginning something new that brings rewards and encouragement. It is hard to see something that is not there anymore and feel good about it. It is easier to see the results of our efforts and feel encouraged and want to continue. This means positive motivation instead of negative.
What can you include that gets you where you want to be instead of what must you eliminate. Instead of eliminating energy vampires and people you don’t like, start including and adding in the people and friends you’d like to have. Get it? Change the perspective. Shift from the negative to the positive. Make the changes bite-sized and enjoyable and you will more likely continue. Get it.
Then you will more likely think and do those things bit-by-bit that are healthy to do. Overall you are improving, slowly but steadily. Remember, in order to win the race you first have to run the race. AND you have to finish the race. You can’t quit anywhere along the way and expect to win. YOU can win! You can succeed in making changes and doing anything new that you want to! You will develop a new positive habit as long as you make a steady progression toward achieving your goal. Stick with it and it is yours. Commit and persist. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

“If you can change your mind, you can change your life.” William James
“I’ll be blunt: I’m very disappointed that these secrets are available. I think buying this material should be treated like buying hand guns: You should have to fill out forms and get checked out first to see if you’ll use this wisdom for good or evil. I’ve NEVER seen such powerful techniques or insights. The average psychologist, cold reader, magician, or mentalist doesn’t know these “beyond secret” methods. You could start a cult with this! Far too powerful to be released publicly. Please take your Ultimate NLP Home Study Program package off the market—especially now that I own it.” –Joe Vitale – Author, 2000
“I am smiling and my heart is beating a little bit faster now, Rex. We go all the way back to the last century and me finding my way in many ways at that point. You helped me during that point because I learned NLP, and some of the communication material came from you. I was sitting at your feet and learning how to apply it in my life and career.
Freedom can be yours BUT if you do nothing, nothing changes!
You sent me cassettes Rex way back in the 1990s, and these were cassettes on communication and NLP. And we had exchanged some things and we had talked and you were very kind to me and very generous with me. I religiously listened to everything I am always studying, always growing, always working on myself and maybe even more intensely back then. Thank you Rex!Joe Vitale -Author, appeared in ‘The Secret’, 2022

“I give this course a massive thumbs up! And to put it into perspective I was already an NLP trainer when I came across this course some years back and I was blown away by the content in it and the way it is taught. Rex really knows his stuff and the content is amazing. But it! I mean every word.” Barry Neale – NLP trainer 2021
“My personal development journey took a turn for the better back in 1996 when I was fortunate enough to be trained and mentored by Rex Steven Sikes. It’s been my ongoing wish that Rex would put his personal and professional development insights, his unique accelerated learning techniques, and basic to advanced mindset strategies (what he’s rightfully termed Mind Design™) into a book. He’s finally done it and he’s held nothing back. Rex equips you with everything you need to live a more empowered life… He was the first person to really challenge me with the idea that to change my life, I had to change myself first. His concept of 100% Self-responsibility has served me so much in my life, it’s now the cornerstone of all my training and coaching as well. He states, “When you accept full responsibility for everything going on, you begin to access your inner strengths and power. When you accept responsibility your mind begins to look for solutions because you are responsible.” Bottom line: I’m a better coach, trainer, entrepreneur, husband, and parent because of Rex.”Joe Soto – International Marketing Coach
“I am beyond happy to call Rex Sikes my mentor and friend. (Yesterday he was was kind enough to be my Valentine’s too lol) seriously though. I’m so happy to have invested into his NLP home study course. Which he has taught many successful people in the past 40 years. Here’s a testimony from Joe Vitale from the movie the secret. If anyone is interested in joining the course. Please feel free to reach out to me.” Lynn Serrano – TV host, 2022
