“Masters continue to master the basics. Novices want advanced tricks and techniques. They mistakenly think those will help or rescue them BECAUSE they didn’t and don’t master the basics. It is all basic to a master. To master the basics IS to know.
To know and not do is to not know. The basics are the foundation. Without a strong foundation there is nothing to build upon. MASTER THE BASICS! You can’t build your house on sand. You need to build on a strong foundation. From the foundation you build up.
At one time in history the master tested or determined if the student, the apprentice or the disciple, moved forward or advanced up a level. Today, times have changed, and people think they should advance just because they think so. They want to rush it. STOP!
You Don’t Know What You Don’t Know
Humans haven’t changed that much. In olden days, and today, people face the same issues. That is why masters required students to ’empty their cup’ of knowledge and trust the master for guidance to determine when the student is ready.
This is the reason the statement is as it is, ‘when the student is ready the teacher appears,’ because we don’t know what we don’t know. We miss the forest for the trees because we don’t have the depth of vision a master does. I say, ONLY when the student is ready…
It is for this same reason you can read the same material again and again and extract new meaning from it each time. It is because you change between readings. YOU are a different person.Still you don’t see it until you see it. ONLY when the student is ready… Get it?

A chess master notices more than a novice. The novice can’t even see the moves or opportunity when it is directly in front of the student Learn from a master and learn to master the basics. Everything you need will unfold as you stick with the basics.
Watch athletes prepping for a game or sporting event. What are they doing? Basic moves. Passing, kicking, throwing. Warming up. Putting, shooting, swinging. They are warming up. They aren’t doing their most advanced tricks. They are setting their mind and body.
Skill Comes From Doing – Repeat The Basics – Learn And Master
Don’t be in a rush or seek the next newest advancement until you are able to notice what is important and apply the basics. It is a sure signal you are not ready if you are in a rush.
