This method is used to analyze and evaluate results of experiments, tests, and theories. The results are either accepted or rejected based on review of procedures, peer review, result replication or failure to replicate. It’s not meant to be believed. It isn’t another religion.
It’s a tool for greater understanding. Scientists propose testing theories by first trying to disprove the proposed theory; the null hypothesis. If it can’t be refuted, then it may be tacitly accepted until a better explanation comes along. It’s all about trading up! Get it?

Scientists create theories and proposals for how things work which are updated and exchanged as new data, new tests and new results become available. You don’t believe in math to make change at the store. You use the math for practical purposes. Use it don’t believe.
The same applies to science. You aren’t supposed to believe in science. You use science. It isn’t a replacement for faith based thinking or religious thinking. It’s a tool to analyze, evaluate and test premises about the life we live and the world around us. Get it?
Scientific results and conclusions are meant to change as new data becomes available. We replace older theories with newer theories when newer theories add to greater understanding. We never get the complete picture. All we ever have are partial glimpses.

We can’t know everything about everything. So, we don’t believe in science. Plus, there’s good scientific protocol and bad. There is no one size fits all science. Reporting results can be good and honest or bad and dishonest. There are lots of bad and rotten scientists, too.
Publishing results is fraught with political and money issues. Use science. Accept results when demonstrated to be reliable. Withhold judgement or acceptance when results are not verifiable or questionable. Scientists seek to replicate results from the detailed reported methodological procedures used by a set of scientists which ultimately are reviewed by peers. Science should not be another religion but a vetted tool we use to gain greater clarity. Used well it keeps us humble, curious and learning. Get it? Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes
