“As I have said, I realized where I am today is a result of everything I thought and felt and did OR did not do in the past. I created my present and future from my conditioning. I think, feel and act habitually and that determines the results I’m able to get.
My today and tomorrow is a product of my previous thinking. I’m where I am because I created it. This it the frame of mind I chose to adopt because it made me responsible and accountable. No longer could I blame god, circumstances or others. I had to look within.
From within to without. As above, so below.I decided I had to take control over what the results are in my life. Whether any of this was completely true or not I didn’t and don’t care. I am interested in what is useful and what positively serves me to move forward. Not truth.

I began to focus on where I wanted to be and create instead of what needed to be fixed, changed or what was in the past. I was more interested in building a new house than patching up or fixing an old one. I remain focused on this regardless of what else is going on.
I imagine my future how I want it to be, I imagine I have it all in place, This is what I concentrate on throughout each day. Not what is or what is or was wrong but what I want in the future and I imagine it as if I already have it. I live from the feeling of the wish already fulfilled.
In my mind, I create the future I want to manifest. This was an incredible leap forward for me. Instead of living life looking back or focused on circumstances, I started looking ahead. Instead of letting things happen to me, I began to decide I chose how to respond.

Instead of driving down the road looking in the rearview mirror, I began to focus on my destination and how pleasantly I could get there. I decided I shouldn’t ignore the present that would be silly, I just don’t have to react to it as if I were a Pavlovian dog.
I put an end to salivating whenever the bell rang. I decided I’d celebrate and appreciate the present no matter what the present was. In order to be able to do this I had to think it was worth it even when it may not seem that way. I made it a point to look for good.
Whatever good I could find in whatever was going on and I would appreciate it and accentuate it. If I experienced calamity and problems I would find whatever good I could find in the situation and accentuate that. This really worked for me AND countless others.

Certainly, accentuating the problem or bad feelings didn’t make me think, feel or do any better, but focusing on what was good did. I learned I could choose what I paid attention to. Even if my first thought was finding the bad my second one became, ‘what’s good?’
‘What is good about this?’ ‘What might I not notice now, that I could? How might that then change how I think, feel and act? I learned I could direct my thinking. I didn’t have to be wedded to my first thoughts or my programmed habits of thought. I could change!
I found as I did this things changed for me. Not overnight but gradually. Slowly but steadily at first. I discovered nothing changed in ‘reality’ other than me and my relationship to reality. However, my new thinking DID change everything.

That may be a difficult sentence or concept to grasp right now but my life transformed. I learned that regardless of whatever was going on I could decide how to feel and think about it. I was the one in charge. Just because bad things happen I didn’t have to be unhappy.
I had lived that way for years, without choice, now I began to exercise my choices. When I became the person who chose what to think and feel, yes, everything changed for me! More about this in the next blog.
