“Why I train people is to be surpassed. Why we train is to be surpassed. If one can’t get as good or better than their trainer, then the trainer and the student didn’t do their jobs together. It is coaching and being coachable. It is teaching and being teachable. Both must be willing to change. It is training and being trainable. Training means the trainee goes through a process to learn and excel. Get this.

If a teacher, presenter or creator doesn’t help people surpass them, then they aren’t much of a presenter or creator. Leaders make leaders. Sad. Some who profess to be in that position don’t understand the responsibility. AND both parties have responsibilities. Trainer should attempt to be the best and most compassionate trainer. They should walk their talk and talk their walk. Integrity matters.

The student must seek to be the best, most open, willing and transformable student. The student must ’empty their cup.’ Many are called but few are chosen is worth remembering. The student must be open and willing to change. If you claim they are, but don’t change and close down the moment you’re presented something new and different, you’re wrong. You’re not leaving you’re comfort zone. Get it?

Transform Yourself By The Renewing Of Your Mind

Training isn’t about information. Sadly, that’s what many people assume it is. Training is about creating experience for the trainee to grow in. It’s about setting parameters and opportunities within a safe environment to optimize student success. It’s about introducing the student to a new way of being, thinking and doing. If the student isn’t ready, the lesson, opportunity and teacher can’t appear.

Training is a marriage of sorts. The trainee and trainer come together to assist the trainee in moving forward by offering opportunities and experience and troubleshooting or adjusting. The trainer needs to be skilled, and the trainee needs to be flexible. Remaining teachable and coachable is necessary to get the most from the relationship. It’s amazing how many poor trainers there are.

It’s amazing how many poor students there are. Most people only repeat what is already known, don’t leave their zone of comfort or safety and are not willing to change. A willingness to change means one changes. It’s not giving lip service to changing, it is actually changing. Being and doing differently are important. Thinking and speaking differently are important. The goal of training is leveling up.

It’s about transformation. Between a great trainer and trainee there is transmission and transmutation. If neither trainer nor trainee is very good little happens. Sad, but true. It is meant to be otherwise. The master and disciple relationship of old, the notion of apprenticeship and that when the student was ready the master, teacher, lesson appeared is solid. It’s been perverted in modern times.’

Education means to draw from within. That is an art and science. To draw from within and help reveal the talent within the trainee, student or disciple. It is from within to without. If you think change comes from without and from the teacher or trainer. You’re mistaken. The reason why good trainers are good is because of experiences, difficulties, failures, adjustment and corrections over a long enough period.

They aren’t made in a course or two. Just as good wine is aged so are worthy trainers. The right trainer and the right trainee are an unbeatable combination. Get this. Get great training. Most of my students have gone on to become happier, healthier and wealthier. I’d say all have befitted greatly by their own accounting. Some however, have gone on to create millions and millions of dollars.

Some have enduring, loving and happy relationships. Some have improved their mental, physical and spiritual health in ways they could have never imagined. My goal is they surpass me, my trainers and staff and create the life the want and live life on their terms. So many have benefited in so many ways because they took the time and energy to get the training they needed to improve their lives. Pretty awesome.
