“When you first get up you have a choice. Enjoy getting up or dread getting up. Which you choose makes a big difference for the rest of your day. If you drag your butt out of bed and into your day, imagine what that does for all the rest of it. It doesn’t make it most delightful.
On the other hand, once you find a way to wake up, and greet the day with positive thoughts and energy, you bring those thoughts and feelings into the rest of your day. How you go to bed determines a lot about how you wake up. Hey, if you need 8 hours, get it.
Create a nighttime ritual for going to sleep on time. Shut off all electronics at least one hour prior to sleeping. Don’t watch news, FB or current affairs that are negative and energy leeching. Instead, list the things you are most grateful for. Think on these prior to sleep.
How You Do One Thing Is How You Do Everything
Read some inspirational material. Take a warm relaxing bath. Get a massage prior to bedtime. Drink some soothing tea. Unwind, let go. Find peace. Look back over the good moments of the day. Appreciate all your moments. The day’s challenges are learning opportunities.
Don’t focus on what went wrong now. Do that earlier in the evening. Go ahead and reflect on those situations, extract and learn the lessons you need. Journal. Let go resentments and attachments. Do your gratitude list and really feel thankful. Do your affirmations.
It is bedtime. Decide to feel love, peace and gratitude. Close your day successfully. Decide to wake up well. Set intentions for how you want to wake up. Decide how you want to arise. Imagine it. Visualize waking up positively and feeling good. Think about greeting the day.
