
“If there were one simple thing you could do that would elevate your attitude, sharpen your mind, improve your health and revolutionize your life, would you do it? Most people say yes. Few follow through. But if you’re still reading, chances are you’re one of the few. So, let’s go there. You want better. You want more out of life. You want to enjoy who you are and what you do.
You want to feel good about yourself and your experience. And truly you can. You already have what it takes. You simply need to recognize it. In my last blog I asked you to focus on talents, abilities and resources you already have within you. I asked you to reflect on them and appreciate yourself more because of who you truly are.
One of the most powerful practices you can adopt, starting right now, is the simple act of directing your mind toward your own strengths. Look for what’s already right with you. Seek what’s working, what’s shining, what’s strong. Your thoughts are tools; your questions are keys. What you ask, your mind will answer. So, ask well. Having an answer is great but it is only a mere fraction of the process.
DEVELOP THE POSITIVE ATTITUDE, MINDSET AND BELIEFS TO TRANSFORM YOURSELF
When you ask yourself what you’re good at, really good at, you engage a mental search engine that goes to work instantly. And it doesn’t just return one answer. It brings back associations. Connections. A cascade of supporting evidence. You become a magnet for your own positive truths. This is how the mind works. What you focus on expands. Sadly, most people go in the opposite direction. They ask what’s wrong.
Why they fail? Why they’re not enough? And sure enough, the mind gives them reasons. So be wise. Ask better questions. Direct your thinking. This is why I’ve taught Directed Questions™ for 50 years. Because when you learn how to steer your mind, you reclaim your life. If at first you can’t find answers, don’t panic. Just keep asking. The answers are there. You’re good at more than you realize.
“What else am I good at?” “What are my hidden strengths?” “What have I overcome?” Ask and you will receive. Ask again and the door opens wider. Ask consistently and you become unstoppable. When you build the habit of seeing your own strengths, you start to live from them. That’s when real transformation takes place. It gets easier. You feel better. You become more effective. You feel more confident.
