“I shared an ABCD method for managing time. Now, I share an ABCD method for dealing with troubles. Both are easy to remember and use. Use ABCD for troubles. Transform how you feel about circumstances. Whether circumstances change or not, you can!
A stands for Adversity. When you meet troubling circumstances, events or people realize you can’t wish it away, but you can be resourceful. You can build resilience. You can shift your thinking. Put yourself at cause. Change what you focus on! Shift. Get it?
Stop focusing on the problem or ‘bad’ circumstance. Focus on your resources and abilities to make changes. Stop focusing on the size of the ‘issue’. Break it down into bite size pieces and focus on fixing it piece by piece. Look to what you can do not what you can’t.
What We Want To Do With Ease We First Must Do With Diligence
B stands for Beliefs. Your beliefs may support you or limit you. Realize they’re often irrational. When poo hits the propeller look at your thinking. What are you saying to yourself? What are you focused on? If you think you can or you can’t, your right!
Don’t try to escape the circumstances. Instead look at what you’re doing to contribute to the difficulty. Then, change what you are doing. Stop being critical of yourself. Learn from the situation. Learn how to change yourself now, and for the future. Think differently!
C stands for consequences. The consequences may be bad feelings and negative thoughts. You might feel fear, doubt, anxiety, rage or frustration. You may not be able to change circumstances, events, or people but you can change what you believe, feel and do.
If You Think You Can Or You Think You Can’t You Are Correct
Shift your thinking from negative to positive. Shift from limited thinking to options thinking. Manage or change your expectations. Stop doing the same things over and over. Do anything else that’s positive. Take deep breaths, dance, or sing, Change your feelings.
Put yourself ‘At Cause’. Accept responsibility. Learn from what happened. It’s an opportunity to change yourself, your thoughts, feelings, what you say to self and others, and your behaviors. Change how you respond to circumstances and you win! Stop being a victim.
D stands for dispute. Challenge your limitations. Stop buying your own limiting BS. Decide you’re different. If you can change the circumstances, do it. If not, change how you respond by changing your attitude. Dispute by doubt. Doubt your beliefs. Use doubt!
You Go Where Your Thoughts Take You – Manage Your Thinking
Decide your limitations aren’t you. Dispute them as facts. Decide you’re better off, more capable, and able to do anything you put your mind to. Stop living beneath your capacity. Stop believing you’re less than you are. Believe the opposite. Believe the best, not the worst!
This ABCD method for overcoming limitations, challenges and obstacles works wonders when you apply the process. Immediately, you can begin to change what you think, feel, do and the results you get. Everything changes when you shift from less than resourceful to resourceful. Take charge, change. Make your dreams come true.
