“What do these politicians and scripture quoting nutbags not understand when it comes to policy and uplifting others. Jesus fed the multitude, healed the sick, forgave those in need, and made wine for the rich and helped them celebrate. He didn’t appear to qualify his giving, his forgiveness, his healing and his helping. He didn’t demonstrate hate, intolerance or separation and division. He was compassionate.
SEEMS all of us would do well to remember HE said this: “A new commandment I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so also you must love one another.”– John 13:34 We’d do well to remember this. Practice this. It’s a commandment from him. Love one another. Pretty damn straight forward. No exceptions or clauses there. Love one another as I have love you. Plain. Direct. Simple.
Now let’s do it. Enough hurting and harming people. There are politicians actively harming people who need help and understanding. I’d call those politicians evil and in need of forgiveness and a jail cell.
Stop busing immigrants out of your area only to have children die on buses. Stop preventing people from getting the health care and medical attention they need to live full lives.
Stop preventing people from earning a living wage. Stop preventing people from having the same benefits others do. STOP harming and preventing anyone from the same access you and your friends enjoy. Stop treating anyone else outside your club, group of friends and acquaintances as different from you. Stop excluding the poor, the needy, the downtrodden and start ministering to them.
Start treating all people, the haves and have nots, the citizens and the non-citizens, the same. What’s good for the rich goose, is good for the gander. Love one another. Help one another. Stop the BS hate and harm and prevent or punish all citizens who do. Whether politician, religious leader or average citizen legislate against hate and for love and comfort and health and healing and equality.
Mandate kindness and for those who spread hate and fear let’s have some consequences and hold them responsible and accountable. Enough already. How about we finally DO – give love and peace a chance! Start appreciating all people for no reason other than we’ve been commanded to love one another as I have loved you. Get it! Get this! Do this. If you claim to be spiritual at all then act like it. Uplift and edify everyone regardless. Make a difference in the world. Light candles and make the world better for all. Help all people to be better off. Raise the standard of living AND care and caring in the world. Today, not someday. Get it? Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes
