“The greatest leaders and speakers in the world don’t talk about what they’ve done. They don’t talk about themselves. They talk about what you will do. They talk about who you are and who you can discover yourself to be. Why? Because it is not about them. It is about you. True leaders never call themselves leaders. Others call them that. Why? Because they’re busy leading by example. Get it?
Those who tell their story repeatedly. Those who say often, ‘I call it…’ Those who talk about how the world is falling apart and why you need what they have are not so much for you as hoping you’ll be for them. Buddha never said, ‘hey I’m the greatest. I call it awareness.’ Jesus did not say, ‘Ain’t I cool. I’m a healer who does miracles. With 2 fish and 5 loves I fed 5 thousand!’ Get it. Humility is a virtue.
Those who love and care for you make it about you. They help inspire, uplift and edify you so you become your best. They want to help you find your authentic self and your true voice. They want you to see past and move beyond your limitations. They hope to god you’ll surpass them in the ‘race’ and see them at the finish line. It is not about the leader. It’s about the NEXT leader. And one after that.

Keep in mind there can be good leaders and those who are in a leadership position but ought not be. Leadership is about what the true leader does and who the leader is. It is about integrity, transparency, honesty and the desire and willingness to help others WHICH IS MORE IMPORTANT than taking credit and being called a leader. You can tell, HOPEFULLY, who is in it for you, or not.
Many cannot. Many follow blindly those who don’t lead to benefit others but lead for power and fame. Be the change you want to see in the world. BE THE CHANGE don’t just talk about it. Celebrate everything and help others do this too. Understand you can help others and be helped yourself. Buddha was able. Jesus too. St Francis, Gandhi, Mother Teresa, Mandela, King and some others.
If you speak. Speak to bless, edify, heal, inspire, prosper, transform and uplift. Speak money. BUT when you speak money, speak about how others can earn it and increase it. There’s no need to speak about yours. Be an example instead of telling others you’re one. Edify and uplift. Educate and enable. Point people in the direction of THEIR power and abilities instead of bragging about yours. Get it?

Get who it is about and that is not you and me. It is about the people you help to inspire and uplift. Stop telling them how bad things are and how much they have to stuggle extra hard to get ahead. Encourage them by helping them feel stronger and capable and positive they can do it, instead of fearing the worst and needing help. Help put them in the driver’s seat, don’t take them for a ride.
Not everything that glitters is gold. But true gold doesn’t need to say, ‘HEY I’M GOLD!’ They don’t have to say, ‘I don’t want to impress you but …’ Yes, they do. That is what they are attempting to do. Do good and good will follow. Harm and harm will follow. ‘You will know them by their works.’ Seek to help, not attention. Attention will follow the good works. Givers get. Understand this.
When you truly desire to give, whether you have anything to give, is when you become open to receive. It’s not the amount you give but your willingness to give freely, WITHOUT requiring any return. When you let getting go, is when you discover the good coming back. When you give without keep a tally is when you give from your abundance. When you give abundantly you get abundantly.

Not because you want to get things back BUT because that is how it works. If you get nothing back, you couldn’t care less. You aren’t doing it for the return. You are doing it to do it. It’s not about you. Get it? It is not about numbers. It’s not about having followers. It’s about imparting respect, recognition, and love. It’s about caring enough to serve without attention. It’s silent strength.
It’s not boastful or show off. Do you want to lead? Why? Seek to understand, why do you want to lead? What are you doing this for? Who are you helping? What can you accomplish working with others? Who is it about? Keep your mind, heart, words and actions pure. It is not about the words you speak as much as it is the living example you are or are not. Seek to walk the talk and live in the light. Love, accept, help, respect and celebrate everyone. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes
