“While terrible things occur, there are wonderful things occurring too. It is important to remember this. The world is smaller today because of media and we have immediate access to all the woes of the world 24/7. Now, more than ever we’re influenced by bad news.
At one time it was newspapers, then radio, then television, now all those, plus internet. We can’t escape bad news. It’s on TV, streaming, internet, Facebook, Twitter, you name it, it spreads virally like wild fire. Nothing travels as fast as bad news.
Still, there is good news in the world. This is important to remember. What you focus on is what you get. If bad news is all you see and hear, not only do you not live in reality, but your focus prevents you from recognizing and enjoying the good. Change your diet.
Your Energy Flows Where Your Attention Goes
Stop emphasizing what is wrong and begin emphasizing what is right. Put things into perspective. Not everything is bad or wrong. There’s plenty of good. Go and find it. Discover just how many good people, good days and good circumstances there are.
Seek to solve problems. Don’t ignore them but stop living on a diet of catastrophic events. Learn to focus on what brings you joy and makes you feel good. You can’t change the world perhaps, but you can change your mental diet and your thinking about things.
You can manage your mindset and be more positive. Not airy-fairy positive, but realistically positive. You can be a solution seeker first and solve problems. It’s not about ignoring what needs changing but becoming more intelligent how we go about changing it.
You Become What You Think About Most Frequently
We need to choose what we want to pay attention to and be influenced by. I don’t isolate myself from news, some do, but I aim my mind at finding the best I can in a bad situation. Realize you and I have a choice about what we focus on.
I spend most of my time seeking out cool wonderful things to pay attention to and appreciate. Not bad things. I want more good stuff and less bad stuff. I want the bad stuff to get resolved in positive ways.
I decided, the least I could do was get my own house in order. Get my positive mind set on. I think if I can discover that the world is an incredible place with enough for everyone maybe someone else can too. It all begins with a thought and it all begins with me.
You Are Where Your Thoughts Brought You
It is up to each of us to recognize this. Your energy flows where your attention goes. You become what you think about most often. Let go of the bad. Find the good. Discover what there is to be grateful for and you’ll transform yourself and your life. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes
