“What you say to yourself is what you live from. The stories that you tell yourself and others over and over is your reality. It may not be the reality you want but it is the one you perpetuate. If you want to change your life you have to change the stories you tell. You must!

All we have are our stories about our experiences. Some are memories. Some are false memories. You know, you and another family member remember things absolutely differently, even though you were both there. You have your version. It may not be correct.

However, it is what you tell yourself.  What you tell yourself may be limiting, untrue, and make you feel bad, yet you habitually tell it. You think this is how you are and that is how things must be. Truth is, it isn’t you. It is your story about you. And it isn’t how things must be.

Don’t Be Trapped In A Less Than Glorious Story Of Your Making

We live from created stories about ourselves. You could call them maps. We don’t live from direct experience but our re-representation of experience we recall in our mind. It’s why it’s said, ‘the map is not the territory’.  It isn’t the reality, only we think it is.

What we represent to ourself becomes our reality. This is why we need awareness to go beyond. It is absolutely possible to transcend all this through awareness, yet few people will. Most are more comfortable with the stories they have lived from. Even if it sucks.< Don’t Be Trapped In Someone Else’s Story Of You

That doesn’t mean they like it. They are just used to it. They may not realize that a person can be different so they continue to perpetuate. It’s called habit. A habit is an unconscious, automatic reliable program of thinking, feeling and behaving.  Until it isn’t.

Then it is anything and everything else. Then it is incredible. It is immense. It is bliss. It is freedom. It is consciousness. It is choiceness awareness. Few will find it, but all can. You can! Learn to drop the stories. Learn to end negative self-talk. Stop dwelling on the bad.

Be the author of your experience. Write new stories of how you prefer to be. Focus on these. Affirm and act as if it is the reality. Exchange the bad for the good. Focus on the good because what you focus on expands. Energy flows where your attention goes.
