“How can you tell if you are focused on what you don’t want or what you do want? It’s easy. You have a signaling system that you can use. It alerts you when you’re on or off track. You must learn how to recognize it to use it. It requires becoming aware. For example, if you’re frustrated, it’s a signal you’re focused on what you do not want. Negative emotions are a gift and the signal you are focused on what you don’t want.
When you’re feeling good and have positive emotions it’s the signal you are focused on what you want. Your feelings are your signal system. Negative emotion means you are thinking about what you do not want. There are only two ways to understand this. You want something you do not have, yet. Or you want to eliminate something. Whatever you are thinking about mostly is what you get more of.
You create the conditions of your life experience. You manifest more of the same. What you think about you become. If you are trying to rid yourself of something, you create more of the very thing you don’t want. If you say, I don’t want X! WHAT YOU REALLY ARE SAYING IN YOUR BRAIN THE WAY YOUR BRAIN UNDERSTANDS IT IS — I WANT X! You can’t think about what you don’t want and create what you want. Get this. Get this.
If you are frustrated, angry, depressed, anxious, worried, fearful, blaming and accusing, whining and complaining, you are spending time and energy in a less-than-glorious place. These feelings that cause you to blame and complain are the signal you need to stop doing what you are doing and do something else. You need to shift your attention away from what you don’t want. Sounds simple and it is. AND there is a bit of a catch.
I’ll get to the catch in a bit. If you notice yourself criticizing and speaking poorly about self, others, events and situations that IS a signal. Those feelings and what you are saying ARE clues you are focused in less-than-productive ways. You are focused on what you do not want. OR you are focused on what you want but doubt or worry you won’t get it. If you notice the gap or lack of having what you want, you create more gap and lack.
Once you become aware you’re feeling negative, frustrated, and you don’t like feeling that way you can do two things. First, you can get more frustrated and angrier so become so intensely negative you think and say and commit to yourself, ‘Never again! That’s it. I’m done. Period!’ You ramp it up to the ‘last straw’ point. From this point you can make changes you need to IF and only IF you shift your energy from that never again.
Otherwise, you perpetuate the never state. You create and recreate the negativity, frustration and not having what you want. Understand this. One way of dealing with your negativity is to get so negative you decide never to be negative again. You commit to it and stick to it! It can and does occur naturally for some people. They get to the point where they MUST change! It isn’t a question of if at all. It is, this changes now!! That’s it! Done!
That intense emotion is fine if it serves to take them to a place where they stop focusing on the negative and begin focusing on the positive. Again, understand negative feelings are the signal you are not focusing on what you want. That is a gift that helps you to change. However, if you don’t change your focus to what you do want, you won’t have the relief or get the results you hope for. You must understand this.
The catch? WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT YOU BRING ABOUT. If you imagine your goal but realize you don’t have it, you aren’t going to get it. Why? Because you’re thinking about not having it even though it’s something you want. You realize it isn’t yours, so you create and attract it is not yours. Get this. To get it you must feel as if you already own it. That, it IS yours. You are already it. It isn’t a question of whether you’ll get it. It’s already yours!
If you can’t think and feel that you’ll continue to struggle. You must wake up. You need to pay attention to the signals you are getting and change what you are doing. Most people don’t know the signal. Most don’t pay attention or understand the signals because they’re so caught in their conditioning, they don’t notice the signals or are confused by them. I’m trying to help you out here. You can’t keep doing what you’ve been doing.
You must switch your attention. THAT IS WHAT your feelings have been trying to get you to do. Your feelings are trying to GET YOUR ATTENTION enough for you to notice so you can SWITCH! BUT just switching isn’t enough. You must know what to focus on and how to focus it. You must understand that thoughts and feelings are energy, as are words and behaviors. What you want is energy. To get what you want you must become the correct energy. If you don’t, you won’t easily get what you desire. WHY? Because if you continue to do what you always did you will keep getting what you always got. I offer you an opportunity to be productively different. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes
