Perhaps, you get a mentor who can advise you. Perhaps, you start investigating resources, regulations or practices you’ll need to know. Whatever it is get going. To help you start setting short-term goals to accomplish each day, week or month. This will keep you on track.

You need to maintain your focus. If your purpose is the top of the ladder each run is a goal you accomplish along the way. You may not yet know what each rung is but you will as you keep at it. It will become clear. The short-term goal keeps you from procrastinating.
Small steps will keep you moving forward if attaining your purpose takes months or a year or more. Plan out your day. What do you intend to do to move the needle forward? Plan it, schedule it and do it. Act with intention. Stop being haphazard. Focus. Follow through.
At the end of the day, you can evaluate your actions and set your plan for the following day activities. Realize you may not yet know or experience the benefits or all the results of your actions right away. Notice and eliminate time wasters and aim to be productive.
