How Sameness May Defeat You

“Here is a wonderful illustration of what so many people do without realizing that it influences them. It is the blind spot that creates the issues. Read this description and notice if you’ve ever had similar thoughts and feelings. Those are the very ones you want to change. Awareness is the key. Also, needless to say, she continued to have “barely enough to get along with.” Life paid her in her own coin, paid her just as she paid others – exactly what was earned but never a penny over. That habit of never giving one iota more in kind words, love or money than was in the letter of the law built her life.

Not her hard work and “virtue,” but that inmost attitude, manufactured her experiences. The thing it constructed for her was as perfect a materialization of that attitude as a house is of its blue prints. True it is that rich people often have vices, just as this woman her virtues. Notice the woman was a good person. Her beliefs, her attitude, her outlook, her efforts, her projections and premonitions for the future, her predominant mood kept her, held her hostage to a present she didn’t enjoy much. Her future was more of the present. Why? Because she perpetuated sameness. She could change her attitude, her predominant mood, just as you can. She didn’t. Will you?

Realize, ‘that inmost attitude manufactured her experiences. The thing constructed for her was as perfect a materialization of that attitude as a house is of its blueprints.’ Whether it is money, happiness, health, connections, family, relationships, whatever you want you and I must cultivate an attitude about it the exact opposite of hers. You must cultivate a positive one about your desires.

It may be that what you need most right now is the exact opposite of the ones you presently hold. If you want change, you must change. The flashlight illuminates. If you discover things could be better, change them so they are. You can begin where you are at this moment. Decide to stop perpetuating the old and shift into the new. You can begin NOW to develop the appropriate attitude. Attitude is the number one predictor for success in all areas of life! Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

Those Who Are It Do It

“‘As a man thinketh in his heart, so he is,’ in the original means as the man is in his being all day long or essentially forever. Who the person is, is demonstrated by what the person thinks, feels, says and does. It’s about alignment and congruity. It’s not just about simple thoughts. As an analogy let’s pretend there are truly good people in the world and truly bad people in the world.

A truly good person would be thinking, feeling, saying, and doing good things all day long. A truly bad person would be thinking bad things, feeling, saying, and doing bad things all day long. That’s who they are, period. For most people they think good things sometimes and bad things other times. It’s why I say they’re like a person standing with 1 foot on the dock and 1 foot in the boat.

They can’t get anywhere because they’re not solidly on one. Be on the dock or in the boat but straddling both will get you nowhere. To manifest what you want you must get into the boat and travel to the destination you want to arrive at. You can’t vacillate. It isn’t a single thought. It isn’t what you sometimes are doing and at other times you aren’t. It is who you are all the time that matters.

Who you become along your journey to your destination is important. It’s who you are that allows you to reach your destination. I know I’ve gone a little over on the concept of traveling in a boat, but you get the idea. Who you are determines what you think, feel, speak and do to get the results you get. As a man thinketh in his heart so he is and as he is he’s able to create what he or she wants.

It’s not just the effort, it’s the quality. It’s not just the quantity, it’s the quality. It’s the heart and mind and speech and behaviors are all aligned to bring about the very best results. AND you can become this person by applying simple principles, bit by bit, drip by drip, drop by drop daily persistently, consistently you become it. Neurons that fire together wire together. Correct repetition builds correct habits.

You build the new habit of being the kind of person for whom manifesting is easy and as that person manifesting IS easy. Prior to this it’s a struggle because you’ve got 1 foot on the boat and 1 foot on the dock. ONCE YOU ALIGN YOURSELF you are all in the boat moving toward your destination. The Bible also says ‘by their fruits you shall know them’ or again back to the original, by their actions.

By what they do you will recognize who they are. Why? Because they walk their talk. They live it. They are it. They demonstrate who they are by their behaviors and the results they get. If you and they are loving, kind, generous, compassionate, accepting, helpful and looking for win win wins for everyone, then it’s likely you and they are that kind of person. Usually, you can tell a good person from bad.

If they’re reading, studying, learning every day and adding to themselves to keep themselves uplifted, inspired and edified and for others then they may be that kind of person. They will do the things that demonstrate who they are, they will speak the words that demonstrate who they are, and you will notice it by how they exude in their behavior. You will see it in their countenance. It’s Who they are!

You will see it in the results they’re pursuing. They aren’t saying one thing but doing another. They aren’t harboring a secret shadow side and being something other than what they are. What you see is what you get. What they say is what they get. So, as a man thinketh in his heart so he is and by the fruits you will know whether the person is genuine. This is important. Seek to be genuine and be it.

Do not just look at others but look at yourself. Are you genuine? Are you being and thinking and feeling and saying and doing those things that continue to make you the kind of person for whom manifesting is easy. The good person is easily recognized from the bad. The bad often attempts to masquerade as the good. I hope you get this. Rise above. Vibe high. Celebrate everything!”

Stop Flirting With The One You Renounced

“‘Stop flirting with the one you renounced.’ is one of my favorite lines from Elsie Benedict’s book. I love lines like this because they contain so much power that many people miss it. They quote the obvious ones but miss the hidden gems. This is a truly powerful example. If you have ended a relationship, then stop flirting with the person you broke it off with. Stop entertaining or encouraging.

Do you get this? If you are done with poverty, poor health, unhappiness, doubts, worry, fears, anger and negativity then stop giving energy to those thoughts. Stop entertaining them. Stop letting them creep back in. Stop encouraging them by giving them your time and recognition. Cut them off and put your focus on the new. Put an end to the old. Let it go. Drop it. Do something different. Shift focus!

Stop giving credence to the disability, or the lack, or the insecurity, or the anxiety, or the fear, or the doubt that you’ve renounced, that you don’t want, and that you are shifting away from. Stop telling yourself the same woeful stories. Stop the critical and abusive self-talk that you let run rampant whenever things go awry. If you always do what you always did you will always get what you got.

THE PAST DOES NOT EQUAL THE FUTURE BUT ONLY IF YOU STOP PERPETUATING THE PAST! When you drop it, stop it, and let it go, and then think, feel, speak and do new things then you are free to have new and different results. OTHERWISE, you keep repeating the same old stuff. You keep getting the same BS because you keep entertaining and encouraging the same old BS. STOP FLIRTING!

Shift from the negative to the positive. Stop flirting with the negative. Stop entertaining it. Cut it off in the same way you would if you don’t want someone bothering you. The suitor you ended the relationship with. To let the negative thoughts in is to give them your attention. Little attention or big attention doesn’t matter. Energy flows where your attention goes. What you focus on expands.

Stop resuscitating those negative thoughts, words, feelings, and behaviors. Stop! Stop! Stop! AND be different! IF you don’t want someone bothering you DO not encourage them. Don’t flirt with them. Put your attention on what you want to expand. Put it on the good, the kind, the abundant, the loving, the peaceful, the fun, delightful… get it? Encourage and nurture what you want to grow. Get it? Get it?

Here’s an important point. What happens if you stop watering your plants? They wither and die. What happens if you cut off the power supply to your toaster? It doesn’t work. If you JUST STOP entertaining, nurturing and encouraging the thoughts, feelings, speech and behaviors you don’t want WHAT will happen. They will wither away. STOP perpetuating them. Stop giving them energy. Get this!

Interrupt the pattern. Dance, sing, shake, run, jump, shout DO ANYTHING ELSE! Stop perpetuating the old. Stop, drop and roll puts out the flame. Running fans the flames. STOP! DROP! ROLL. Stop feeding the negative energy. Stop the negative thoughts and feelings. Take a deep breath. Jump up and down. Get it. Interrupt the pattern. Stop it. DROP! Laugh, dance, shake… ROLL. Notice> Interrupt> Shift!

I built this into my work more than 40 years ago. It’s part of Mind Design™ and The Attitude Activator™ which helps you easily learn this process. It helps you wire it in through mental rehearsal while you relax. When you are in alpha and theta you reprogram your subconscious and retrain your conscious. Awareness means you notice. Stop the old behavior. Interrupt it. Shift to new wanted ones.

Oftentimes gurus tell you to cut off the naysayers, the Debbie and Donnie Downers, those who rain on your parade. Don’t let these and other energy vampires have their way with you. Okay, fine. Fair enough. I have plenty to say about this now and at another time. FOR NOW, I agree. Cut off anyone who says you can’t do it. Stop listening. Stop entertaining their negative messages. Stop nurturing!

Who is the worst naysayer and energy vampire around? It is you! Stop being critical of yourself. Stop nagging and yelling and abusing yourself. Stop raining on your own parade. Instead, be kind and gentle. Be encouraging and inspiring. Love and accept yourself. Stop the voices of doubt, worry, fear, anxiety, sadness, anger and worse. STOP STOP STOP. Transform yourself. Renew yourself!

Whenever you focus on the less-than-glorious you give it energy. You are watering it and caring for it. You are growing those seeds. Stop. Withdraw the attention. ONLY grow the seeds you WANT and intend to grow that are good for you and others. Become a victor instead of a victim of your own mind. So often, we think some other person is causing the problem when really that other person is YOU!

Get your energy working for you and in the direction that befits you and others. If you keep doing what you are doing that isn’t working WHY WOULD YOU EVER think that suddenly it would just one day work? Stop perpetuating the old and begin perpetuating the new. Energy flows where your attention goes. Keep it on the good, the better and the best. Get it? I’m always here to help and coach when you are ready. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes

Something Powerful From Elsie Lincoln Benedict

“I thought I’d share something from Elsie Lincoln Benedict today, especially since we’ve created quite a fever around her work in the Secrets of Success book study. I’ve been quite a fan for quite some time. Her work, as the work of some other significant authors predates so many, we are today familiar with. Elsie had it down for sure. She became a millionaire by age 30. That’s 30 mil today and so much more.

She was a pioneer for getting women the vote and she became a world class speaker. Truly amazing and so few know about it. Anyway, let’s get into the quote I want to share because it’s important. Understand, I keep pointing out that what you think, see, say, feel and do is what you get. If you believe anything, that anything is true for you. As Ford said, ‘if you think you can or you can’t…’

So, get this important quote from ‘How To Get Anything You Want’ and perhaps you will begin to understand why I say CELEBRATE EVERYTHING! Sadly, some people will read a book like hers, or Hill’s or Wattles and get the message that what you say is what you get and then say something stupid such as you must eliminate all negative beliefs, or there is toxic positivity, or you sabotage yourself. Get this.

If what you believe, think, see, say, feel and do is what you get WHAT did they just think, believe and speak. They said you must do something or something is the case without realizing that thought or belief is the very thing they first could change for transformation. If you are unaware of what you are presenting and representing to yourself, you live in a cycle of folly.

If words are important, they’re important. If they aren’t then they aren’t. You decide. Is Ford correct or not? Whatever conclusion you come to you will be correct FOR YOU. You will see or not see possibilities, opportunities or resources based on your beliefs or point of view. We live from our conditioning, but we can change it. We aren’t victims unless we think and act as victims. Get this?

If you think something is hard it will be hard. If you think food is bad for you it is. Learn from what we understand about the Placebo Effect. I’ve gone to it here, in my book and elsewhere so I won’t now, but understand your expectations determine how far you can see, what you find and what you get. YOU determine whether something is easy or not. Good or not? Valuable or not? YOU YOU YOU YOU!!!

There are those who tell you success is slow and hard to come by. You must sacrifice and work hard and sweat, sweat, sweat. If you don’t want it bad enough you won’t get it. Take massive action. It takes time to build wealth. Okay, do you get it? ‘Whereas we build harmful attitudes but slowly, we can build harmonious ones with INCREDIBLE RAPIDITY…. due to the fact…’ Get it. Your attitude matters!

What you find and become capable of depends on what you think about it all. What you feel about it and how you speak about it. Most people think change is hard so guess what they find? Change your thoughts and you transform your life. What one person finds difficult another finds easy or pleasant or rewarding. It’s all in your head. So, change what you think about, and you change what and how soon you bring it about. Thanks Elsie. SOMEONE has to say it. So many gurus got it wrong!! Can You Imagine A Day When…?

“Can you imagine, do you imagine, a day when war becomes obsolete? If we can’t imagine this, it is not likely to happen. Consider this: IN school, someone bullies and beats up a kid. What happens? Typically, the kid has friends or family that go after the bully. The bully gets beat up. What happens? His friends and family come for revenge. This goes on and on and on and on.

The only way to stop it is to not engage in it. Do not succumb to violence or returning violence. It only escalates. Bullies think it won’t. They think they will prevail, and they may for a while but typically all bullies meet worse bullies or those counteracting the original hurt and harm. HOW about imagining new ways to get along instead of old ways to do harm?

‘Imagination is more important than knowledge.’ said Einstein and he is not the only one. How about we do as John Lennon asked and ‘give peace a chance’ do you think we can. If not, what are you advocating instead? We can only go where our mind takes us. Whether an individual mind or a group mind. If it is to be it is up to me, is the saying OR if it is to come true, it is up to you.

Let’s find ways to create harmony and friendship to create a better world instead of pulling it apart. Hurting each other doesn’t help, it only hurts all. Yes, it may require forgiveness and sometime but if we don’t attempt it we are doomed to repeat. Let’s break the cycle by doing something productive, positive and new. If you always do what you always did, you’ll always get what you always got.

Don’t you think it’s time for a change? ‘Be the change you want to see in the world,’ said Gandhi. He led a peaceful movement and brought the British empire to its knees with passive resistance. Others have attempted the same. It seems most have met with violence. That doesn’t mean they always will, but it is possible. Good and bad exist the same as day and night. They both are part of life and cycles.

For us to evolve we need to grow up. We need to evolve our consciousness to the point violence is not the solution. It means changing our rhetoric, our metaphors, analogies and allegories. Maybe we don’t need to declare war on things we don’t like. Maybe if we become less violent others will too? It is possible, but not unless you believe it is possible. What you consider impossible keeps it the same.

You can light a million candles off one candle if yours is lit first. People model each other and learn from role models. We tend to copy each other. How about we hold out for love, peace, compassion, kindness, understanding, acceptance, harmony and helping each other instead of the alternatives. Hold out for good and positivity by becoming the examples others may follow. Eventually, the movement will grow and take hold. If we don’t attempt it, surely it won’t happen. Are you in? I hope so.
