“I happened upon a picture on a friend’s profile on social media. I ‘liked’ it. In the photo was an old girlfriend of mine. We were involved 40 years ago. Broke up back then.I liked his photo and she blocked me. It is safe she won’t see this.

Can you imagine holding a grudge for that long? I have no interest in her, nor she in me. I liked his photo because he was working on a film project and that is worthy of a like. It was worthy of congratulations. Plus, it was a nice pic.

The point of this is:  if you’re carrying a grievance for any length of time, it is longer than you most likely need to. Let it go. Give yourself a healthy break. Drop the grudge. Let it go. Now go play and enjoy!

If You Think You Can Or You Think You Can’t You Are Right

Think about this. 40 years ago she and I were different people. we had different needs, goals, friends, pastimes. Many changes occur through the years. We aren’t the same. Neither are you. Update and move forward. Let go and get on with living happily.

Stop living in past if that is what you are doing. Heal yourself. Forgive others because when you do it helps heal you.  It doesn’t matter if a grievance or disappointment is years old or seconds old. Learn from it and transform. Seek the positive.

Now just so you understand. I am not suggesting she do anything other than what she is doing. She is only doing what she knows to do and feels right for her to do. She is on her own path. It is not up to me to dictate what she should or shouldn’t do or when.

Forgive – Let Go – Allow Transformation – Celebrate – Grow

If, when the time is right, she decides differently that is up to her. My point. When you recognize you are carrying wounds from your past, or baggage, drop it so you can focus on the good stuff instead of the pain.

A profound thought someone shared once is: if you can’t find the same joke funny and laugh at it repeatedly each time you hear it, then why do you keep crying over past disappointments? It is a great point and a great question to consider to transform yourself. Get it? Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes
