“We’re experiencing, whether a virus of body, or of the mind, symptoms of underlying causes. Whether it’s systemic racism or the pandemic, we need to stop treating symptoms and address the causes! We won’t change using band-aids. We have to heal.
Band-aids keep us repeating problems because we don’t resolve the underlying reasons the symptoms exist. When we finally address the causes, we can begin to live better with less stress and strife. Things can change when people are finally treated with respect and fairly.
When we’re out of balance with nature we suffer the consequences. When we are out of balance as a people, a culture, socially, and financially, we suffer the consequences. The uber-rich isolate themselves because they can afford to. Others take to the streets.
There Is A Way To Get Everything You Want Peacefully
You can’t keep polluting the air, water, land, and food stocks without creating problems. You can’t keep stealing from the poor. You can’t keep oppressing the people without consequences. Revolutions are built on not having access to the same things others enjoy.
When your life, liberty and happiness are denied by illness of the body or mind, politically or religiously instituted, people who suffer will suffer for only so long before they attempt to correct the wrongs by any means. We need to heal ourselves, so we all survive.
We have the opportunity before us to make a real difference. Some people have struggled in our society than others. We can end this! We have the opportunity to end oppression by force, domination, disparity, hate and racism. We need to change for the better, now!
Doing The Same Old Thing Just Gets You The Same Old Thing
There are those in power, visibly and invisibly, who don’t want change. Their wish is to control, to dominate. They want to keep the poor, poor. They want minorities’ kept in their place.’ They want the financial inequity we experience. They fight to keep it the same.
That is why it must change. It’s time to grow up as a people. It is time to become civilized. What’s going on in the streets is the reaction to years of domination and separation. No longer can one turn away and hide, however, one can still refuse to see.
There is a wake-up call sounding. Some hear it. Do you? We can’t keep doing what we have been doing for centuries. We must stop the injustices and begin making it better for all people. How? We should commit to making it better peacefully, persistently.
Hear The Wake-Up Call – Stop What You’re Doing – Wake Up
We need to keep at it. We should practice Gandhi’s method. Peaceful protest. No one wants to be yelled at forever. Do you? As we become of one mind, united in harmony, for a just cause the momentum will grow stronger. Keep the momentum increasing.
You keep the momentum up by evolving yourself, your heart and mind, and inviting others to join. You demonstrate that these changes are a good thing and benefit more than just a few. You help people unite because they decide it is good to make it better for all.
More haters will wither when love prevails. There will always be haters, but the way to win is to outnumber them. Wouldn’t it be far more preferable to live happily together than to always be battling? Let’s commit to ending the struggles of those held down.
Healing Is A Process – It Starts Within – Encourage Healing
Commit to ending our own personal struggles, too. Let’s rise higher. Let’s join together peacefully and unite in this just cause. Let’s actually become the land of the free. Let’s finally begin to create equal access to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
The ‘good ole boys’ ways must end. No longer can our courts, our politics, or our people, promote hate and separate justice. We are not different races. We are one people. Let’s be of one, peaceful mind and create a better world for each of us. Don’t give up!
Let compassion be the rule. People are uniting and changes are initiated. Let’s make sure we see it through while working together to bring about positive change. Let’s make sure we heal the problems and not hide them again. We can. If we only will.
When asked by President Kennedy, ‘What will it take to put us on the moon?’ Werner Von Braun stated, ‘The will to do it.’ The same is true about improving conditions for the oppressed. The same is true for making all things better. As Gandhi said, ‘be the change you want to see in the world.’ I say too, GO FIRST. Be an example of positive change. That’s the most powerful and good thing each of us can do. Celebrate everything.” Rex Sikes
