“What holds you back? How come you aren’t making more headway in your career or in life? Are you displeased with the results you have been getting? Does it seem tough to make positive changes? Are you troubled by negative thinking? Do you find changing your thoughts difficult? Is this you? At some level you know your beliefs and attitude determines how happy and successful you can be. Truly, they determine everything. Everything!
Many of us eventually begin to understand that what we think and feel makes a big difference for us in our careers and our lives. It’s just that when it comes to actual practice we get bogged down. We try and sometimes we give up. Some believe negative thoughts are difficult to avoid and that positive thinking is tough. Some encourage you to change all your beliefs, maintaining it.s hard and you must eliminate all to get free from them.
What an interesting belief that is. Hopefully, you understand this. People have beliefs about beliefs and what to do about them. Consider this, because it’s important. If you think something is tough, or requires massive action, or that you must risk and sacrifice to get ahead, well, those are more beliefs about what you think is necessary. Get it? Yes, these affect you and most people don’t realize they hold these beliefs about beliefs.

Beliefs are just thoughts we think over and over. They are thoughts, most we’ve adopted from other people while growing up. They can be beneficial or detrimental. Many beliefs are ‘lies’ we heard so often or told ourselves so frequently we simply came to accept them as true. Some serve us well while others don’t. Beliefs are only chronic thoughts, habitual thinking. Habits are tenacious, whether good or bad. They’re what’s familiar.
Yes, it may require some dedication to develop a habit or to change a habit. We can find it difficult or easy. Do you understand right there in previous sentences are beliefs about habits. Whether it IS difficult or easy or how long it takes IS completely up to us AND what we believe it takes to change a belief and break or make a habit. What can you do? You can change thoughts (and beliefs) about your beliefs. There are times when you want to.
Positive thinking may seem difficult because of what you’re used to thinking and doing but it isn’t any more difficult than negative thinking. Negative thinking is just more familiar to you. It is for most people. IT’s simply a matter of what you are used to. Having positive thoughts IS just as easy as having negative ones! Again, these are beliefs. What is important (another belief) is choosing those that serve you well and making those familiar!

If YOU don’t like the results you’ve been getting in your life and you continue to think and do as you’ve done, it’s silly. Nothing changes by doing the exact same thing. You need to make changes to get changes! Unless you change something, things remain the same. All you have to do is look at your results or lack of them to notice how it’s been working for you. If you don’t like it, change it. It’s entirely up to you and no-one or nothing else.
There’s a purpose to negative thoughts. Less-than-glorious thinking serves to provide feedback for when you’re off course. It’s part of your internal guidance system. You won’t hit your target UNLESS you recognize when you’ re off target. These thoughts and feelings alert you that something may be amiss. They arise so that you can make adjustments and corrections. They inform you that you are off course. They are a gift you don’t recognize.
However, if you don’t recognize them as gifts and alerts, you won’t receive the message. You’ll try to rid yourself of the negative thoughts and feelings BUT they inform you something is ‘off’ SO YOU CAN change your direction. Negative thoughts and feelings help you clarify what you want BECAUSE they’re powerful indicators of what you don’t want. They tell you what you don’t want so you can better determine what YOU DO WANT! Get this!

The negative only serves to clarify the positive. That’s their function and purpose. Listen to them just briefly then let them GO! They got your attention. Now use the information to move on. Put your attention and focus on where you intend to go. Put it on the good and where you want to end up. Keep it positive. Think about what you want to be, do or have and be it, do it and you’ll have it. Don’t hate the messenger! Appreciate the message.
Listen. Pay attention. Stop the negative. Stop being negative. Stop succumbing to it. Let it go and shift. Be grateful. Aim at your positive destination. When you realize you’ve gone off course traveling in your car, you simply adjust and get back on course. After all, that’s where you want to go, right? Forget about going off course. Complaining about it doesn’t get you there. Let it go! Be thankful you noticed and corrected it. Be grateful. Get it?
If you don’t like the results you’ve been getting you must change what you are thinking, feeling and doing to get the results you prefer. It IS that simple! You must change something!
