“Very few are willing to get outside their comfort zone. Whether it’s ‘bad’ habits one needs to abandon or confirmation bias and living with blinders few are willing to stretch themselves to go beyond the boundaries they live within. Most aren’t. Are you?

Why is this? Foremost, it is unfamiliar. We don’t know how it will end if we change, so we fear it and respond anxiously. We think it means giving things up and we don’t want to lose anything. It is mentally and physically uncomfortable as we try to keep the status quo.

It requires courage and dedication. As we change, or face change, doubts, limiting beliefs and negative self-critical thoughts come up designed to keep us the same. The brain runs on what it already knows and seeks to remain consistent. It resists changing.

What We Want To Do With Ease We Must First Do With Diligence

That’s why dieting can seem like dying. It isn’t, but we ‘think’ it is. Changing any habit causes us to face our boundaries and provokes these fears and sensations. It’s a part of normal conditioning to experience these but we usually over dramatize them. We do!

We make bigger issues out of these than they are furthering the difficulty of getting out of our own way. We trick ourselves into staying the same. After all, we have practiced being the same for as long as we’ve lived. We don’t change much.

We can, but it requires effort. It is simple but not necessarily easy. It means making a commitment and seeing it through. Will power may not be enough, but we can trick ourselves into making it easier than we think it will be. We can find it can be fun to change if we’ll let go.

Energy Flows Where Attention Goes 

Doing anything repeatedly, consistently, for a long enough period of time results in new habit formation. Doing anything CORRECTLY and positively repeatedly and consistently for long enough results in positive NEW habit formation. We’ve learned lots of bad habits.

Changing them means using the same process we used to acquire the bad ones, but now we do new things with awareness. Our original habits were acquired without realizing that’s what we were doing. To change, we consciously must decide to and follow through.

The Mind Is As Strong As Its Weakest Think

There are really only two ways to change. Through catastrophe or conditioning. When the bottom drops out on your world and all is lost IS when many people make changes or through conditioning. You can change anything when you do the right things habitually.
