“You determine when, if, for how long, where, and what to do. In other words, you have decision power regarding your capability and you are in charge. You can begin it or end it. It doesn’t come out of nowhere and just happen to you. YOU actually do it!

To say ‘I can’t’ means ‘I am capable of not doing this’ which further means you have decided not to do it. You’d be better served if you changed all your ‘I can’ts’ to ‘I won’t.’ If you change your ‘I can’t’ thinking to ‘I won’t’ at least you recognize you’re the decider.
You’re in charge. You’re determining what you will and won’t do or attempt. ‘I can’t’ as most use it, is wimpy and only an excuse for ‘I will not.’ Let’s at least develop the courage to state and live by what we will or will not do. Take responsibility for your decisions.

Do you understand that you are in charge? If a thought is what stops you from attempting to do something positive and wonderful for yourself then that thought needs to be changed. Don’t you think? Why be limited by a mental packet of energy? Why be limited?
Why would you ever let your own thinking prevent you from having the most wonderful, safe, delightful, positive experience on this planet? Yet, this is what many do. Henry Ford said ‘I never let what I can’t do interfere with what I can do.’ Can you say that? Well?
I called my transformational work ‘Directed Questions‘. I’ve been working with people, training, coaching and consulting on how to use questions for personal and professional transformation since the late ’70s. There may be nothing more powerful than questions.

Questions direct the mind to what we pay attention to. I won’t go into much detail at this time as I have written about it and spoken about it extensively. In a day or two, I’ll share some articles I authored. Consider the affirmation, ‘I can do anything.’
If you find it too difficult to affirm, assert or declare a statement such as, ‘I can do anything’ you can make it easier by suggesting it differently. You might say. ‘I can do anything I learn to do.’ or ‘I can learn many thing.’ That keeps the meaning the same but softens it.
You may not think you can do something at present time but you do realize with the proper training, guidance and timeframe you could learn to do something new and different that could benefit you. Right? Whether you will is a different question. That’s up to you.

But you certainly, ‘can’. Get this! Learn to ask yourself questions that direct your mind to what you DO want to discover and experience AND who and what you ARE and HAVE been able to do. Read that again. Yes, slow down and reread it. Do you follow? Do you get it?
You can think or say, ‘I wonder how quickly I’ll begin to realize more fully that I can learn to do anything I put my mind to. And I wonder how soon I will surprise and delight myself with this new discovery?’ DO you realize you are directing your mind when you ask questions?
You are directing your mind similarly to how I directed you at the beginning of this blog. Get this! Questions direct your mind. The mind moves in directions. If you don’t know the answer and it isn’t a ‘yes or no’ question then mind keeps working on it even if you don’t.

“I wonder how soon I might discover those things in my life that I am presently able to do that I thought, at first I could not, but clearly I am able? What are some of the many things I have learned to do that at first I thought was too difficult to master, but I have in my past?
Those are not ‘yes or no’ questions. You may not know the answer or the many answers to the question. You are asking how soon you might discover things you can now do, that you didn’t think you could at one time in the past. Get it? You don’t have a ready answer.
It requires a search through your memories. So, you brain may continue to work on it long after you forgot you even asked it to find the answer. That’s what brains do. You pose the question and it works on it even while you sleep. You might have a ‘eureka’ moment.

The answer suddenly pops into consciousness. Similar to remembering a name you know you know but can’t recall. Get it? Questions engage the brain and it looks for the answers.
