“Do you believe the things you tell yourself? I’ll bet you have told yourself some pretty nasty things through the years. It is sad if you bought into them. If they motivate you to be different and better, okay. But if all they do is make you feel worse, then stop it.
You might think, ‘Well, that is easier said than done.’ AND yes, if you think that it certainly will be tougher than if you think, ‘Okay, let’s do it!’ What you choose to think and what you choose to believe affects how you feel, what else you think as a result of that and behaviors.
We all believe hurtful things and stupid things about ourselves. We were conditioned to do that growing up. We learned to have negative self-talk and limiting beliefs. Okay, are you going to live the rest of your life with that or are you going to change it? Choose.
Laugh At Your Problems And They Are No Longer Problems
If you want to change it here is one thing you can begin to do right now that can make a difference anytime you get down on yourself, talk poorly to yourself, rag on you or believe something that could be, and most likely is, absolutely untrue about you. Try it out!
Pretend for a moment you are god, or infinite intelligence, or a beloved and trusted friend, or simply your own higher awareness and ask yourself, ‘What would god say about me? What would my friend say about me? What am I not noticing that could benefit me?’
‘Would god say this? If I had more awareness what might I notice that I am missing? What would my higher self tell me to do? What else might s/he tell me to notice and pay attention to? Would s/he say I should or shouldn’t believe this?’ What would god have me think instead?’ Get it? Stop believing your old nasty thoughts!
Believe You Can And You More Likely Will – It’s Up To You
You can find alternative points of view that serve you better. The only reason you tell yourself the nasty things is from habit. Change your thinking about your thinking. Change your beliefs about your beliefs. Start choosing what you want to think and believe!
Stop perpetuating old, painful, negative conditioning. Believe the opposite, the positive and the new. Question everything and find the good, the silver lining and the gold. Train yourself to find the positive and the good instead of reliving the nasty old crappy thinking.
If you haven’t trained yourself to question those negative beliefs and self-talk, release it and replace it with the positive, now’s the time. Drop the hurt. Let go of the old way. Think of how much god, your friend or the universe loves and cares for you. They’d nurture you.
Want Your Life To Change – You Must Change Some Things
They wouldn’t waste your time insulting you. Why should you? Practice loving self-care. Shift from what was a problem and that which limited you into new positive ways to think, feel and be. Look for those things to pat yourself on the back. Find your wins.
If you can’t find that many yet, keep looking and you will. Meantime start creating some. Do this. Do it for a week or two. Stop the negativity and try on a different point of view. See yourself from someone’s loving eyes. Adopt a different consciousness.
Create the opportunity to be different and a couple weeks from now you’ll want to continue. Savor the seconds, make marvelous the minutes, delight in the day! Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes
