“I am blessed to have two darling girl dogs. Sasha 4 years and Bailey 2. I couldn’t be happier, They fill my days with immense delight. I also have an elderly male cat, Oliver who went missing some years back for 4 months, 230 miles away, but we were reunited. So, I’m grateful.

Tonight,  the girls wanted to go out. It was raining. Now snowing. I let them out and the door closed but they could get in by pushing it open. I went into the kitchen to feed Oliver. They like to steal his food. So, I stood by while he ate. Soon they came in and joined us.

Oliver finished and walked off. I decided to treat the girls. When finished I went and closed the front door and locked it. I returned to the room I had been in. I was online sharing some tips and principles on Napoleon Hill. Bailey came in and barked a bunch of times.

She does this to go out or to get Sasha’s attention. I decided she wanted to go out. I got up, as did Sasha, and let them both out. I’ve a bridge to my front door called a moat. Sasha took up a position on the east side of the moat. Bailey exited the end and went east too.

I waited in the entranceway. Soon, coming around from the east side is Oliver. Bailey behind him. WOW. Oliver finished eating and went out the open door. Typically, since his missing adventure years ago,  he doesn’t venture out even if the door is left open. Not tonight.

I was shocked to see him and delighted. Bailey, realizing Oliver was outside, barked, got my attention and went out to bring him back. Sasha too. I can’t express how thrilled I am she and Sasha did this. She rescued her brother cat. Oliver is old and frail. I hadn’t realized he’d gone out. Bailey did. Thanks Bailey!

I love my girls. They are wonderful spirits. I am better because of them. Those three make this family even more wonderful. Because of his advanced age, I am thankful Oliver wasn’t out overnight or longer. I’m proud of my girls. I wouldn’t have known where he went.

I might have thought he went off to die somewhere in the house and been looking in all the wrong places. Bailey resolved it for me. A year or so ago I stumbled and fell walking with Sasha alone. She ran in circles trying to help me get up. Barking to alert neighbors.

I was fine and got up but she was concerned and did everything she could to help me. My girls are amazing. I’m so blessed, as are you who have beloved pet friends. There are many video examples and stories of animal intelligence and connection online. Our furry friends are deeply loving and intelligent. Can’t help but love them, right? I sure do.
