“Following up on the previous blog post. Yes, there are times when you will feel rushed. There are also times when you may feel bored or as if the day is just dragging on. When either of these happen you still have to be able to do what you need to do. How you do it is what makes the difference for you. To do it well and feel good, you need to make a change in the moment.
Stop. Take some breaths. Decide how you want this day to go. Shift into positive mode. Do what you can in this very moment to move into the best frame of mind and feelings to accomplish what you want or need to make happen. The reason people never make a change is because they don’t decide to make it different. We need to set intentions and make them happen. Decide it and do it.
We run on autopilot so much it doesn’t occur to us that it can be different. We ARE creatures of habit. So much so we barely notice we are doing the same things over and over while hoping to be different. It does not have to always be the same old same old. You can change for the better. To not make a decision is to have already decided. It’s agreeing to go along with whatever is.

It means you are settling for being a drifter, a victim to the outside pressures or circumstances. To not decide is to give your power away. It is worse than making a wrong decision. You can always re-decide if necessary. If you never decide you remain the same. STUCK as you are. If that’s OK, okay. If it isn’t OK then it is time to decide to change. Take charge. Set an intention and make it happen.
At least then you are moving forward with purpose. Once you decide and take control everything can change for the better! Decide how you want to spend your time. Time is finite. We never get it back. We only have so much to spend here, so you might want to use it wisely and not squander it. When you become aware you are in a less-than-glorious moment.
You are stressed, overwhelmed, afraid, anxious, frustrated, confused, doubtful or sad. Whenever you are distressed STOP! Breath! Shake it off. Smile. Shout. Do something different. Take a walk. Decide how you can and will make the moment different. Decide how you want to feel now. Decide how you want to feel instead. Decide. Decide. Decide. If you change nothing, nothing changes!

Decide how you want to think, feel and behave as you go through the remainder of the task and your day. Look for anything and everything you can right now to appreciate in this moment. Really appreciate! Feel it! Mental lists and reciting affirmations without feeling great feelings does little. It’s a step but it’s our feelings that drive everything. Feelings make the difference. Feel. Feel your best!
If you need to take a short break and you’re able to, do it. Do something that makes you feel better. Take a walk. hum a song. Get playful. Recite affirmations with enthusiasm. Ask yourself powerful Directed Questions™. Help someone else. Exercise. Relax. Do something enjoyable. When the break time is over, get back on task with a renewed sense of well-being. Enjoy the moments you have!
Don’t expect the calvary to save you. Take charge. Be responsible. Deliberately change your feelings and thinking for the better. DO positive things that make you feel as good as you’re able to. Keep moving gently in the direction of thinking and feeling better. Everything’s better when YOU feel better. Do it! Stop letting others, events and circumstances best you. Best them instead! Get it?

It is far better and easier to think clearly and get things accomplished well when you’re feeling your best. Many people discount their feelings and ignore them. Stop it! Some people try to push their feelings away or suppress them. them away. Stop! Stop trying to push through things while feeling stressed or less-than-glorious. Stop! Let them go. Relax. Release. LET THEM GO.
If you don’t know how to let go this IS the time and opportunity to learn by doing instead of thinking you can’t or don’t know how. You can think about doing a bicep curl or you can do one. Change how you think and feel instead of overthinking or getting caught in a loop thinking you need to know how. Doing is doing. I’ve given you some things to do in this blog to change how you feel. Get it!
Change it. Change it. Change it! It is up to you! The gift and point of having this brain, this mind, and feelings is to have a more wonderful life. You must train yourself. You must condition yourself to love life more instead of repeating negative and debilitating habits that add stress to yourself. Life is not a big bunch of something nebulous. It is tiny moments. All we have is present tiny moments.

You either mostly enjoy them or you don’t. Find ways to make more of your moments wonderful. Then much more of your life becomes wonderful. The more wonderful you make it the more wonderful it becomes. The more you do the more you are capable of doing. It works this way. The more you do the easier it gets because you get better at it the more you do it. Enjoy all the little things. Enjoy the big things too. BUT make the most of the mini-moments and all your moments transform. Get this and celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes
