“Coffee good today. Bad tomorrow. Why does this happen in media? Because everything is getting reported immediately. I don’t wish to participate in this.

People are posting every new article that comes out from a variety of sources as soon as it comes out and are getting confused by contradictory reports, messages and news conferences.

Chaos and confusion. People panic as they try to be informed. My feed is filled with opposing viewpoints on nearly everything minute to minute. Yours too? What to do?

Relax. Use this time to settle down and settle in. Develop a healthy wait and see approach. Don’t believe everything you read or hear, but don’t disbelieve it all either.

Simply stay open and remain calm. Eventually, the dust will begin to settle around the science and doctors. Then you and I can begin to rely more on that available information.

In the meantime stay healthy. Don’t spread it and eliminate risks to yourself. Practice the recommendations. Just ease off the gas pedal without slamming on the brakes in anything.

This is a giant reset button for all of us. The ‘world’ as we have come to know it is changing. It always has been changing. It’s just right now we are encouraged to do things we haven’t really done before, or at least most of us haven’t.

Use this time to rest, recuperate, regroup, and reflect on those people and activities you value. Perhaps, tomorrow we’ll have a different way of doing things that is better than what we have been doing. Oddly, most of us will resist it.

When Ford made the auto available people didn’t want it. They had and were used to horses. The light bulb came along and Edison’s biggest task was not inventing it (or whomever didn’t get the credit) but marketing it to the public who had oil lamps. The same is true today.

We live within a comfort zone. We get used to being and acting and having things a certain way. When something comes along and disrupts things suddenly, we don’t have any fall back program to rely on.

We’ve only known it one way. We may get confused, scared, anxious, and depressed. That is a normal reaction when stressed, unless you learn how to handle and release stress and negativity.

The sooner we realize our comfort zone is being challenged the quicker we’ll get through it. The faster we will recover the more resilient we can be. This is a time to practice becoming flexible and resourceful.

It is a great opportunity for us right now. Do we truly want things to continue as they were or do we want some significant changes?

It is a time to recognize what is within and what is out of your control. Practice controlling the things you are able to control. Your reaction to change is something you can learn to control.

Then, you can seek to influence those other elements you may not be able to individually control.

Remain calm, sane, smart and wise. There have been great imbalances that we’ve accepted and gaping holes in the protection and care for all. We’ve lived with hate and intolerance, greed and created scarcity, division and fighting, obstruction and deception.

Maybe we can correct these things now that they become, and the disparities have become, so glaringly apparent.

Change is a constant.

Yet, people resist for reasons I cited. What you resist persists. Learn new ways to be. Adapt. Adjust. Correct. Continue. Persist. Utilize this time to become a better person.

Maybe we could all use a large dose of tolerance, compassion, understanding, love and kindness.

Maybe we need to seek to have a gentler world than the one we’ve come to know.

Instead of competing for resources and dividing the pie we can share resources and create more pies. Instead of despair, we can hope.

We can dream and begin to envision a new and better way to be and live in the world. It begins with a positive idea to make something better.

That’s how most human inventions, the spoon, the chair, the clock, the computer, come about. We envision it better and then we work to make it so. We can come together in new ways today because of this pause to reflect.

If we use it well we can grow in love and wisdom.

We can make the future anything we want it to be.

Our future may have been like a car careening out of control and thankfully it now is stopped.

Maybe we have been on the wrong path for a long time but didn’t realize it or know any better. Now the alarm has sounded. The bell has rung and it is time to awaken.

Wake up and together let’s commit to making ourselves better and the world better for everyone.

Maybe this is the world’s way of saying ‘hey humans, you need to all get on the same page!'<

Adversity presents opportunity. Let’s not miss this one.

Let’s come together in more positive, powerful, optimistic ways and make as much of it as we can better than before.

If we just return to what was familiar, most of us won’t be better off. It will be familiar and safe but it won’t be an improvement. It may feel like it temporarily as you go back to the habitual routines, but it won’t be better.

There are those who are vested in keeping it the same. There are those willing to sacrifice people so they can benefit from more of the lion’s share! They will tell you we need to return to the way things were.

We absolutely do not. We can take what was good, eliminate the bad, and improve where needed.

Keep in mind making new changes and not succumbing to opposition to change requires overcoming inertia, the status quo and the powers that don’t want you to change. Remember, a body at rest tends to stay at rest until acted upon by a greater outside force.

The virus is a greater outside force and we are required to make some changes whether we want to or not. Some are slow to get around to it. Some refuse. Get it? They resist.

AND what you resist persists.

We need to get over and out of our own comfort zones and act to make positive, productive new ways to live, be happy, healthy and wealthy. We need to become the greater positive outside force.

We need to act if we would like to create greater harmony and kinship in this world.

We can once we decide we can. That is the beginning of we will. Inch by inch and step by step. We can overcome problems and issues that have been distracting, separating and killing us.

We can lead and live better. We can make it better for all.

Do you want to?

If yes, then… let’s make it better.

Ford had a better idea. Now you and I can have better ones too.

Let’s make this world a far more kind, loving, healthier and wealthier world for everyone. It can be done. There may be great opposition to it, but if we decide what we want and remain determined to bring it about, we will.

Have faith that we can rise above any challenge once we decide to. Let’s improve and evolve as a person, as a people and as stewards of this world. Let’s make it a far better and far happier place to inhabit.

Remember, according to some it was once meant to be a garden.

Let’s make it one.
