“Someone recently said: Easy to tell people to think positively BUT how do you recognize it and turn the ship around? I respond this way. Great point AND what are you actually asking? Are you saying you don’t know how to recognize when you aren’t thinking positively and are off course and want to know how to get back on course? It is quite simple, frankly.
I share how this is possible all the time. Feel free to read my blog, watch my videos all for free, or read my book and enroll in my programs to be able to learn to do this. An important skill is recognizing when you are stuck and then taking the steps to get unstuck. Sadly, most people say – easy to say but. That’s why they remain stuck instead of moving forward.
If when you notice you’re down, frustrated, angry or feeling less-than-glorious, realize that is a MAJOR signal from yourself that you are thinking poorly. You are thinking negatively or less-than-gloriously. You may be focused on what isn’t working, what you don’t like or what you don’t want, on some grievance, annoyance or worse. You are preoccupied with negativity.

OR you may be thinking about what you want but thinking you’ll never get it or noticing the distance from where you are to where you want to be and then feeling bad about it. Once you recognize your thinking is off you must stop thinking it. Interrupt it. I share many methods for doing this in my book, my courses, this blog, videos and elsewhere. Have 40 plus years.
Stop, interrupt the pattern. Pause and then deliberately begin thinking the opposite. Think what makes you feel better instead. IF YOU think you can or you think you can’t, you are correct. That’s why Ford said, “I never let what I cannot do prevent me from doing what I can.” It’s a skill to learn HOW to think. Repeat affirmations or better use Directed Questions™.
Most people aren’t taught how to take charge of their mind, so their mind is in charge of them and that IS WHY they say, ‘easier said than…’ AND if you believe that you are correct. BUT if you decide you can think otherwise YOU are correct then too! Get it? If you want to go to the store in your car, you need to know how to drive and have put gas in your car and then drive your car to the store. Get this? I hope so.
