“Following the last couple of blogs, know this. You get back what you put out. It’s not mystical at all. It’s the law of cause and effect. You cause someone to feel good sometime, somewhere, somehow it will be returned. Do it selflessly, if you really want the greatest benefit. Your own good feelings can be enough reward. Whenever you are down, or down and out, help another person first and you will find strength, joy and comfort.
Go help a child. Volunteer. Visit the elderly, go to a hospital. Help at a shelter or soup kitchen. Go for a walk with someone. Visit a shut in. Send a thank you note. Help at an animal center. Whatever you choose to do is up to you. It will make you feel good inside. The Golden Rule is to treat people AND hold people with the same regard and respect as you want them to treat and respect you. Don’t wait for others to start it.
YOU begin it! Watch what happens. Notice what happens. Depending on your history you may not notice much at first but keep at it. You make the world a nicer place by paying it forward. Smile at someone on the street. Say hello. Ask someone how they are doing or feeling. Be genuinely interested. Listen without judgement. You’ll be doing a world of good for yourself and for others. You may be surprised.
Take your wish list I asked you to come up with a few blogs ago and spread the good to others bit by bit. Spread the love around. You don’t need to be grandiose. You only need to be genuine! Care for others. Get the attention off yourself and on to other people. Too much self-focus is selfish and not wise. Sadly, many don’t realize how narcissistic they are. This is a chance to love and feel loved. To benefit others and benefit yourself. Make magic happen today. Celebrate everything! ” Rex Sikes
