“It is good to ask questions. We grow up asking ‘why’ and wanting answers. Sometimes, we get answers we don’t like. Sometimes, we do like the answer. Sometimes, the answers lead us to ask new and different questions to learn and understand more. Asking is good.

Questioning with an open mind is important. Questioning just to be a dick and keep one’s mind closed, not so much. The problem is people think ‘question authority’ for example is to do whatever one wishes regardless of anyone else. It really doesn’t. Still, people think.

What it should mean is, is this the way? Is this the only way? Are there alternatives? What is possible we haven’t considered? Questions should lead us to discover more not shut us down. Questioning is meant to open us up and expand our knowledge.

Change Your Thoughts And You Transform Your Life

There are options to consider, instead of abusively asserting that one doesn’t have to go along, or that what is being questioned is not good, fair or accurate or inaccurate. Questioning means enquiry and a willingness to learn. It does not mean to ask but refuse to listen.

When we open up anything becomes possible. When we refuse to discuss, listen to opposing views, from credible and even non-credible and incredible sources it is possible we may miss many good things. If we refuse to listen we won’t know what we miss. Get this.

Stay open. Be inquisitive. Be curious as a little child is. They aren’t looking to dismiss the answer and assert theirs. They want to know. It adds to them to know. Even when they ask, ‘why can’t I?’ Stay open. Be like a little child and the ‘kingdom opens up to you.’ Stay open and more becomes possible and greater joy can be known. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes
