Most people use the 5 senses to determine the world around them. Which is fine but then they allow that world to dictate how they think, feel and behave. They act as victims of the world and circumstances instead of victors, which is what we’re meant to be.
They look at an event, or their bank balance, and feel bad or worry about how they’ll make ends meet. They think negative ‘woe is me’ thoughts. They take their cues from the world instead of making the world take cues from them. It’s why I love Edwin C. Barns.

I’ve written about him many times before. He’s my favorite Napoleon Hill person. He wanted to be a partner of Edison. I’ll share just a bit of what Hill wrote about the man who traveled as a hobo to put Edison on notice that he’d be his partner. He became a partner.

5 years and not a shred of evidence. Nothing he could use his 5 senses to say he was even getting close to his desire to be a partner. BUT in his mind, in his imagination, he was a partner from the beginning. 5 years later an opportunity arose and he claimed it.

Eventually, Edison made him a partner and he retired a very wealthy man. He did not let the outside dictate his life for him. He said this is what I will be, do and have. He kept it alive and intensified it for the 5 years in between. Would you be willing to do this? Most aren’t.
That’s why relatively few get really rich, famous or help change the world. The others let their senses defeat them. Keep the desire alive! Most celebrities who tell how they made it say they ‘always knew’ they would. They kept it alive all the while they weren’t!
If you want it, Hill said, ‘if you can conceive it, and believe it, you can achieve it.’ Keep the dream alive. There are two masters. You, and your subconscious mind, and the world. If you had to bet on one which would you bet on? That’ll tell you something right there.
