“You thought up some wishes last time? Hopefully, you did it. Whatever you came up with, small or large, that would improve your life circumstances and make you feel better IS exactly what you can do for someone else. If you realize there are things that could improve your life experience, your relationships and make you feel valued and connected then that is true for others as well. SO, help them and you’ll help you!
Go do it. You want to feel better? GO and make someone else feel better! Yes, you can ask them and find out what they want, or you can surprise them with a gift. It can be as simple as phoning a loved one and saying you care. It’s as easy as holding a door open for someone and saying a kind word. It could be you buy someone who is hungry a meal or give a neighbor a ride.
You might help with chores around the house without having to be asked. Whatever you can do to help make someone feel special and cared for DO! Do it! In giving you will be receiving. You will open the doors for your kind actions to be returned. This is especially true if you expect nothing in return. If your kind actions are in and of themselves enough reward for you, you will be rewarded. NOW and in the future.
The universe loves a generous, unconditional compassionate giver. So, it may not come from the person you helped but still you are making a positive difference in someone’s life. This is not quid pro quo. It ain’t scratch my back and I’ll scratch yours. This is unconditional giving to uplift someone else. Why is this important? Because some people, and you know who you are, are too focused only on themselves and their business.
They aren’t true team players. They are in it for themselves and justify everything with ‘put your mask on first’ or some other examples, that in some circumstances IS important but not in all circumstances is it important. What is important is to uplift and edify others. Take the spotlight off only you and your needs and seek to serve instead of being served. This makes all the difference in the world. Those who do it, discover it.
Those who make excuses not to will never know all the benefits. Giving and receiving are part of the same process. If you can’t do one well, neither can you do the other well. If you can’t give first, why expect the universe to give to you first. Get it? Give unconditionally without reserve. That doesn’t mean empty your bank account. It means look for how you can help others feel better. Little things matter. Butterfly wing flapping affects the climate, you know. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes
