“It’s true. A person’s gut can, and does, tell them more, when they’re well-educated and versed in the subject, BUT not when they know little or nothing about the subject. IF a person isn’t well-versed in the area their intuition isn’t calibrated in any particular fashion.

It needs to be or it may not be useful nor accurate. Learning to pay attention to one’s intuition or gut is an important skill to develop. Your gut does know more than you may, intellectually, but not necessarily more than other people. Yes, listen and rely on your gut.

You need to listen to accurate info OR you need to develop a system, and an intuition, for whether the information you are receiving is reliable and accurate. If it is, and you are well-informed, and you have a history of trusting your gut, then go ahead and trust. Get it?

Your Gut Can Figure Out What Your Head Can’t And Doesn’t Know

The issue is some people trust a gut feeling occasionally; when gambling or playing the lottery. More frequently than not they are disappointed or worse. You need to develop your intuition and your relationship with yourself. You need a history of paying attention.

Don’t rely on your gut for major financial decision if you don’t have a history of trusting yourself in these matters successfully. At least not without first developing a way to ascertain what it is telling you when you pay attention. You may be mistaken even if gut is correct.

You need to know how to interpret what it is indicating. It does it very subtly in a variety of ways. It is important that you are sensitive to it and not cavalier. Not knowing what the gut is indicating is where many people get into trouble. They misread signals.

Gut Instincts Don’t Lie – When You Know How To Pay Attention

When you have a great relationship with it you absolutely know what it tells you without any doubt or uncertainty. You get an extreme sense of peace and well-being when you follow your intuition. Starting out these signals may be extremely subtle.

Some people pretend they know a lot, or think they know a lot, when in fact they do not. I repeat,  gut instinct and intuition is a valuable asset to WELL-INFORMED, ACCURATE INFORMATION decision making but not when one knows little or nothing. Pay attention!

I might be better served to pay attention to a farmer’s instincts about weather coming or when to plant, or about farming etc., but not their advice on stock investments unless that farmer was also a brilliant stock investor. I’d want proof of their investment history!

Your Gut Is Right – But You Need To Know How To Interpret It

NOR would I listen to a stock investor about farming for same reasons. You can learn to rely on your intuition and you should. It will serve you well when you know how to listen. Learning to trust yourself is an important part of successful decision making!

Learning to pay attention to your intuition is important because most of us have been trained out of paying attention to it from birth on. Logic, reality, common sense was reinforced, not trusting yourself or listening to your still small, quiet voice. Get it?

Evaluate your sources carefully. Vet them carefully. Especially if it means investing in them. Be wise. Get educated. Get self-educated. Learn to listen to your small, quiet inner voice and it will serve you well for a life time. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes
