Empathy means understanding, caring, giving, compassion, helping, listening, and acting on the behalf of others. It means going the extra mile to help out without regard to oneself. it means we are in it together and stand by each other and for each other.
Change Your Thoughts And You Transform Your Life
True empathy is difficult to find because most talk it but don’t walk it. Walk a mile or more in another person’s shoes. Live in another person’s world. Meet them where they are at and help uplift them. Go first. Don’t expect them to change for you.
Help them be more of who they are. Accept and validate. Love and care. Stop telling others what they should do and do it yourself. Get it? Too many people insist others change for them and match what they think is important. They tell others what they ought to do.
Empathy doesn’t do this. Empathy allows them to be where they are, meets them where they are and helps them move forward at a speed they can move at. Intolerance demands. Empathy is patient.
