“Some people say, ‘if you don’t call me when I’m struggling. I won’t call you when I am winning.’ How about this? If you don’t call others while you are winning to lend them a hand. Don’t expect them to call you if you end up struggling. We get back what we put out. Life is the opportunity to help oneself and each other. It’s not a competition. We TRULY aren’t here to crush and defeat each other. Flowers don’t. We shouldn’t We’re here to thrive.

End struggling. We got, and we get further, through cooperation than we do, or have, through competition. In exploring the possibilities and the opportunities and by coordinating our resources to work together in harmony we can get more done, help more people and feel good about ourselves. We came together as people in bands, tribes and societies. Understand this. We gravitate together. We connected. We helped each other. We were neighbors.

We created communities and helped with barn raising. We grew together. We had issues too. There were battles. There was greed. There was a ‘crush the competition’ mentality in the pursuit for land, wealth, food supplies and power. BUT we did cooperate and help each other. There’s both tendencies and possibilities. Which do you want to promote? Do you want separation or togetherness? The choice is yours to make. It is always a choice and yours!

DEVELOP THE POSITIVE ATTITUDE, MINDSET AND BELIEFS TO TRANSFORM YOURSELF

When we became an industrialized world people convinced us we needed to have the same as our neighbors. They drove us to compete to purchase things so they would get rich. We became enamored with things more than with relationships because we were being conditioned to want more and more. We were sold worry and fear if we couldn’t. We’re still sold fear and worry. If you have flakes or odors, you aren’t cool! Gotta be cool, right? Nope.

Consumerism separated us. Look into the propaganda efforts of Edward Bernays who is considered the ‘father of public relations. He worked for big industry owners to create a society based on want rather than need. He marketed the idea you didn’t just need one tractor; you want to have two for status and in case one breaks down. The age of information has pushed us further apart with all the splinters. We’re purposely separated.

Ala carte consumption of media, targeted advertising and shopping tailored for the individual rather than all drives more wedges. It’s the world we live in. If you accept it, is there any wonder why you might feel lonely, separated and feeling like you want more. Seek to connect. Seek to help. Seek to uplift and edify others. Seek to reconnect in meaningful ways. Be of value. Be accepting. Be kind, loving and compassionate. It’s about creating relationships.

DEVELOP THE POSITIVE ATTITUDE, MINDSET AND BELIEFS TO TRANSFORM YOURSELF

Be willing to listen and learn from others. Be willing to share so they can too. Stop keeping score of wounds and disses. Let it go. Stop resenting others for what they do or don’t don. Stop trying to control others by pointing out they let you down. Stop petty thinking and behaving. Rise up. Uplift yourself. Pull yourself out of the crappy thinking on what others should or shouldn’t do for you. It’s beneath you to be that concerned. It’s beneath you to be petty.

Stop fighting over politics and religion. Stop listening only to speak and correct the other person. Allow people to be who they are. Celebrate who they are with all the good and not-so-good. Drop the competition. Stop comparing. Stop thinking either you win or lose. You always win if you attempt to understand how things truly work. You may not believe that yet, but you can discover it. Be open! Become available to another way to be. Practice acceptance.

Work together to help everyone win. You win. They win. Win/win/win. Get this! Everyone wins when everyone wins! Everyone loses if only one loses. Why? Because we’re all in this together. If a boat is sinking it doesn’t matter if you’re in the front or the rear. If a rising tide floats the boat, then everyone rises with it. Get it! Connect and celebrate each other. Celebrate the differences. Celebrate the sameness. GO FIRST! Don’t wait for others. Remember, what we put out comes back to us. When you throw a boomerang, a boomerang comes back. NOT a teacup. What are you putting out? Put out the best so the best comes back. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes
