“In order to create the results you want YOU first have to know exactly what you want. Successful people know where they want to end up before they begin. The destination and the end results motivates and drives them to get it. Remember, live from the FEELING OF the wish ALREADY fulfilled. Know what you want. Imagine you already have it. THINK gratitude! In the analogy of driving a car: they know where they want to go SO they can head in that direction prior to starting the car. They’re not random. They know and target their choices. I recommend writing it down in detail. Be specific. When you write it out in detail you are using mental movies and images, sounds and feelings. Make it as precise and vivid as you are able.
Referring back to the analogy: write down your purpose, clarify what you want and determine where you want to end up. You know your destination and your arrival time or deadline. It means looking at the end result, the destination, examining it and adding to it to make it precisely what you want to create. If it doesn’t excite you it isn’t what you should be working on! If you aren’t excited by your first ‘goal’ then find whatever it is YOU ARE MOST passionate about, what you must have, that you always wanted and work on that instead! The destination to go after is one you absolutely feel you must be, do, and have. It should be where you most want to end up (your results) and enjoy most in life. Hill says you need to make it a white-hot obsession.
If you aren’t completely sold on the destination you ‘ain’t gonna git thar!’ Picture it in your mind and see everything you want. See it in detail. Make it full, vibrant and real in your mind. Make it an inner movie of how the future IS different. How it’s better. Imagine how it is wonderful. See the positive future you. Look at, imagine yourself in detail. Do you like what you see?
This is the YOU you’ve always wanted to be. Become that person already in your mind. If this were a fantasy and you could have it any way you want it, then imagine it that way! Keep it real though. Leave out magical flying and abilities and super powers. Imagine yourself as loving, kind, helpful, successful, confident, life-affirming, healthy, wealthy person you can become if you’re not already.
