“Anxious? This can really help. Most people have no idea how sound this advice actually is. It is a legitimate ‘therapy’ or practice for people who panic. Do it on purpose for a minute or two. Practice being anxious. If you can be anxious you can also relax and let go.

Make it happen at specific times. Deliberately panic. Realize when you do you are in control of it and can bring it into submission by practicing and or scheduling panic sessions. While it may sound silly but it is effective and been practiced for a long, long, long while.

Schedule a 5 minute session. Decide you will feel anxious for only 5 minutes. End it at 5 minutes. Schedule another 5 minute session. Or 10 if you really want to go for it. Ultimately, scheduled shorter sessions. Make a calendar. You can change it later. Plan times.

Practice Gratitude – Focus On Being Thankful – Look For Good

I’ll feel anxious Monday at 2pm for 5 minute. Then Monday at 7pm for 7 minutes. Then Tuesday 10am for 3 minutes. Plan it. Schedule it. Keep the schedule. Do it for awhile. Get the hang of it. Soon you’ll discover you have control over any anxiety. You’re in charge not it.

If you don’t trust yourself to begin have a trusted companion be with you at first to help see you through. You can master letting go of anxious feelings and relax through practice and repetition. You’ll learn new positive habits that help you release and feel better.

If you need some help with feeling anxious keep this in mind. AND Breathe. Count slowly 1 – 8 on your in breath. Hold it at least to count of 4. If you can do 8. Then breathe out to 8.. Slow.  Deliberate. Be mindful. Focus on your breathing. Slow it down. Pay attention.

Energy Flows Where Attention Goes

Look around you and find pleasant things to focus on. Kids, pets, scenery, nature, pictures, things that normally please you. Look at them. Wonder about them. Put your attention on them. Become fascinated. You become what you focus on.

Ask questions about them. Put your attention on things you like and enjoy. What you focus on expands. Energy flows where your attention goes. Look for the good. Get curious. Discover there are many things to be curious about. Enjoy being captivated.

Breathe, walk, move dance, sing. Shift your attention. Focus on gratitude. Breathe, deeply, fill your lungs and let go… ahhhhhhhhh make the sound. Ahhhhhhhh allow it to relax and calm you.
