“Everything that shows up in our physical world begins to take shape internally (or mentally) before it shows up externally. Understanding this is a key to effective living. The mind, which is unlike the brain but often compared to and confused with, is not a thing, but an activity. Mind is a verb, not a noun, and it refers to the thinking process. The process is ongoing. Many people seek relief from thoughts.

When this process feels chaotic and random, it can make life miserable and be a source of mental, emotional and physical duress. While it’s naturally non-stop, and by nature difficult to control, we can learn to separate ourselves from its activity. We can become aware of this and its byproducts which are thoughts. Usually we’re thinking thoughts without paying attention to them. We’re not aware.

Though we may not know that those thoughts are there, they can still have an impact. We may not be conscious of many thoughts, but they still affect our nervous system. The body can respond with high blood pressure, suppressed immunity, psoriasis, acne, eczema and insomnia, and other health challenges. It is the habitual, negative thoughts that run on and on that produce these effects.

DEVELOP THE POSITIVE ATTITUDE, MINDSET AND BELIEFS TO TRANSFORM YOURSELF

To become aware of what you’re thinking, spend a few minutes at a time just noticing your thoughts. Instead of thinking thoughts and believing them practice just becoming aware of them without judging them or being attached to them. Observe the thoughts going by from a detached point of view as you would leaves floating in a stream. Notice there are leaves and no leaves floating by.

Don’t judge them good or bad or right or wrong, wanted or unwanted. Just watch them as an uninvolved unbiased observer.  perspective. Let go of control and just allow. Accept that the mind flows and you are just watching that flow without interfering. Become a witness. Just sit with them. Observe your thoughts without judgement. Pretend your thoughts are separate from you. Watch.

Soon you’ll be able to watch and allow and observe your thoughts. As this happens, you’ll begin to release their impact on your body. You’ll notice a sense of physical well-being, and experience peace and freedom from the mind. You’ll find yourself spending more time in the blissful silent gap between the thoughts.
