You can feel grateful. You can feel thankful. You can appreciate your circumstances knowing all things can work together for good. Gratitude means that instead of complaining, whining or blaming we focus on, and express and feel good about all we have. Whether little or lots we are appreciative. Gratitude means we appreciate the people, the circumstances, the situations and events in our lives and the things we have.

Instead of thinking about what we don’t have or should have, we focus on the good, even in the bad moments. We manage our thoughts and feelings and as a result our psychological health improves. A leading researcher in gratitude study, Robert Emmons, confirms, after multiple studies, that the practice of gratitude increases happiness and reduces depression. Not only do we feel better, but we also stop feeling not-so-good. Get it?

All of this helps your Relationships improve for a variety of reasons. People who feel and express gratitude tend to be more social and develop nurturing friendships. Thanking others, even strangers, tends to lead to more opportunities.

They are more productive. People who are more grateful tend to generate more income. None of this should surprise you if you are practicing gratitude. People who are grateful experience positive transformation and more happiness. The important areas in one’s life all showed improvement. These benefits were tied to keeping a gratitude journal.
