“A true student is receptive, open, willing and teachable. A real student is curious, explorative and flexible. This student listens to learn. The mind is open, not defiant. When this student is ready the teacher appears. Who is the teacher? It could be anyone.
It could be anything. It could be a life experience. It could be a formal teacher, a book or a seminar. The teacher IS whoever presents the lessons when the learner’s mind is open to receive. You can even be your own teacher at times. A teacher is a mentor, a coach, a guide.
No one can provide you life-changing information that will make any difference in your life until you are open and ready to receive it. They can preach it, teach it and shout it as loud and long as forever, but until you are ready to hear it, the wisdom falls on deaf ears.

One might as well yell at a bunch of insects marching to certain destruction. They don’t know what’s ahead. They can’t see it. The insects don’t understand your message! They don’t get the necessity of understanding it NOW! Many people just don’t get it! They don’t!
They aren’t able to understand the teacher’s message or the lesson. They don’t get that you’re trying to help them by having them get it. Some expect the teacher to do it for them, but the teacher cannot. The teacher can present the lesson, but YOU need to get it.
Unless you’re open and teachable no teacher can even share with you. They can share, but similar to the insect, you don’t really understand. A teacher only presents. IT IS THE LEARNER who learns. You have to be open and willing. You ought to be inviting.

Be welcoming. Be allowing and accepting. Receive the teaching, the lesson, the experience. Once the lesson is presented you must apply the learning. You must do it, repeatedly, to learn it. Be willing to take time to master the lessons. It takes time. There’s no substitute.
Real learning is different from memorization or repeating back information. Real learning becomes part of you AND you become it. It isn’t something you do or have. It is a transformation. You become it. Successful evolution is WHO you become not what you have.
The teacher passes opportunity to the student who is able to recognize opportunity when it’s present. (It isn’t ‘an’ opportunity but rather it IS opportunity the teach offers.) Many aren’t able to recognize opportunity. If you are, be glad. Get it. You remain asleep until you awaken. Awaken and celebrate. Celebrate everything!” Rex Sikes
